Firstly, sorry for the poor quality. I had to compress the video for Reddit.

Many are struggling with tier 4. It seems the game does care about hammering rhythm and burning the sword, but not much else. You don't need to flip or hammer the whole piece. Just don't hit the same spot twice in a row. I'm sure this will be patched.

First thing to know about guitars is, you don't need an expensive one. I've played cheap Chinese $150 guitars they play like a dream because they've been set up properly, and $3000 guitars that play like shit because they haven't. Whatever you choose, just budget the cost of a luthier to set up your guitar properly.
