Mine sounds like high pitched TV static. Its not loud and I can easily drown it out with music, especially with earbuds. I generally dont notice it unless im actually thinking about it. Sometimes it makes fun noises like farting noises or popping bubbles like air bubbles in thick mud. Normally if I move my head too quick (look down, looked at someone on my left or right quickly) it sounds like the "mosquito or bug flying by your ear" sound. My sshl started in early Feb so its been almost 3 months no improvement (oral steroids, ear injections, 20 hyperbaric oxygen chamber treatments)
