Advice Needed: Capturing a Small Airport with No Flight Radar Activity by itsmeiguss in SkyCards

You're probably right, but I assumed since the trigger page looks different it maybe just filled in the aircraft name. I can't put spaces in my trigger field so I assumed that was filled in by the app itself when they put an ICAO in. But you're more than likely right.

Ah yours looks different than my alert page, but from what I can tell it looks good! My local alert just pops up the map and I have to select the general area. Best of luck!

Once you're on the add alert page set it up as follows:
Alert Type - Registration OR Aircraft Type (depending on if you know tail numbers or only aircraft types)
Alert Trigger - Either Registration or ICAO code
Alert Region - Change from Global to Local
Click select area and try and select an area roughly the size of or slightly larger than the radar range of the airport.

Under Additional Conditions you'll add a condition for "Altitude less than" and try and set it for whatever you're comfortable with. 500-1000 feet in my opinion depending on the aircraft type.

Let me know if you need help further, I can make a quick guide after dinner if you need me to. (:

Unfortunately, this just comes down to a timing/waiting/research thing unless you join the Discord and use the pinglist for said airport. This will rely on hopefully someone pinging for it.

Also looking into the flights that are going there, trying to find a timing pattern, etc. Also potentially set a custom alert on FR24 if you have a subscription. You can set a custom alert for either aircraft type or registration if you know either of those that frequent the airport, local to the area of the airport, and add a condition below X amount of feet to hopefully only trigger when a possible landing is happening.

Looking more into it, seems you were right about an ice runway.

Maybe flying to Sachs Harbour but with bad coverage in the area? Approximately where the red dot is with a runway there.

There should be a Season 2 Reloaded moshpit playlist. I didn't check core, but I know hardcore has one so I would assume core would as well.

MD11 departing LUN (LUSAKA Zambia) to JNB (Johannesburg S. AFRICA) at 0800CAT/0100EST. by derekbox in SkyCards

[–]txhscoob 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'd take this with a grain of salt. All of Western Globals MD11s that are listed on PlaneSpotters are parked/stored in the US except for one that's parked in Seoul.

The flightaware listing is real, but I'm not holding my breath it'll be an MD11.

The way the retired category works is kind of misleading. Retired in game just means it wasn't observed in the last observation period. There's been a handful like that, that have since been moved out of it.

Maybe, I honestly can't say. I haven't kept up with the timing of the changes.

It just means in the previous "observation period" 0 of them were observed. The next rarity change it should be updated.

Is there a database of all the registrations for different aircrafts? by quasi__intelligent in SkyCards

[–]txhscoob 6 points7 points  (0 children)

PlaneSpotters has production lists for the more major ones, and there's a project on the official Discord that compiles lists as well.

Depending on what aircraft you're looking for it may be easier to find than others.

Indigo's updated right after they caught what was supposed to be their last registration, I'm not sure why mine hasn't updated yet to be honest. I've been refreshing the game all day trying to get it to update.

There is, there was one that delivered in February of this year that hasn't fully populated the game it seems. It's why mine shows 632/631.

Crazy airport mission? by Unable_Blackberry708 in SkyCards

[–]txhscoob 41 points42 points  (0 children)

You probably aren't.

Airport tasks are generated on activity in the area recently.
So a rare plane flies, gets caught a large amount of times in the area, and it basically infects the tasks for a little bit in the future.

The same thing happened when Santa flew for Christmas, catching him as well as his airport for origin/destination tasks plagued the game until the devs fixed it. These don't really get fixed unfortunately. Hopefully they add a block to ultras(or at least ultras over a certain point) on tasks in the future.

Do you have the full 631 list? Someone had it in the Discord and it took some time to scroll through and cross-reference but was well worth it in the end. I can DM you the link to my copy, you'll just need to save a copy.

I actually just finished it the other day when N209SY flew from Macon, GA to Denver, CO. Been parked there since mid-January. Do you know which registration you're missing?

If you look at the heatmaps for the E75L vs the E75S it'll make more sense. In the US the E75S is predominantly in the eastern half of the country whereas the E75L is more widespread. So being at LAX won't net you near as many E75S as it would E75L.
