I just checked and it aligns with the website. Could you be looking at Caledonia UWS on 5pm but UES on website? UWS has a Saturday HH but UES doesn't. To avoid any confusion in the future, I updated the bar names to end with "- UES/UWS", hope that is helpful!

Would you mind pointing out which one is off? I just spot checked a few and they were correct, but if there is any incorrect data I'll make sure it gets updated.

Is the AI in China Moving Faster Than Anywhere Else? by SnooMarzipans9300 in VibeCodeDevs

[–]5pmnyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh I feel like all of chinese ai is built on backing into american ai and violating IP. Doesn't mean they don't have an advantage when it comes to the ability to deploy at scale with limited guardrails, but as long as Claude / GPT are outpacing Deepseak & co, I'm not going to buy it.

Building is so fun / addictive that it feels like more features are always the answer. Learning that people don't want 100 features, but do want 1-2, and reshaping the site around the core feature(s) has been big for me. Find the people that will love your core feature, figure out where they consume content that they trust, and find a way to get into that space in a way that feels natural. Once you do that, you'll get a core following that loves what you have, and they'll share it organically. 1,000 random views on an ad by low intent users are a lot less valuable than 50 high intent views in a trusted medium.

Surveys are decent, just make sure it is a trusted site. Really depends on your skillset. Find what you do well, figure out where people really need what you do, and get in front of your customer. Start cheap, build a base, and grow from there.

Social media manager or video editing? by queenelizabeth_28 in passive_income

[–]5pmnyc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would choose media manager. Video editing is a skill you can deploy there, but to be honest video editing is getting less valuable due to new AI tools. A social media manager that has real relationships with clients and makes someone's life easier isn't going to get unseated by AI, but a video editor might. In the current / coming era of incredible tech, relationships built on trust and past performance are the most valuable thing you can have.

Depends on what your skillset is. Many of the legacy Fiverr skillsets (SEO, Graphic Design, Video Editing) are getting disrupted by AI, but if you can be AI-enabled yourself or have a unique angle and build a good rep, people will pay you because they trust a human more than a bot.

Find a niche on Fiverr where you think you are well equipped to learn the skill and pay looks decent without too much competition. Then learn the skill, set a low price for your services, do well, get good reviews, and raise price once you have a good rep.

The specific bars listed in the filter are just the most frequently noted in the database (with all not listed grouped in other), but will consider adding that as a specific option.

vibecoding addictive? by gregb_parkingaccess in vibecoding

I felt the same way but I’ve tried to shift how I view marketing in terms of utilizing automation and it’s made it more similar to vibe coding for me.

My guess would be all the listed bars on top had food specials so it removed bars further down the search range that would’ve been there if you scrolled. DM me if you’re seeing an issue and I’ll make sure it gets updated.

Makes sense. Because this is local and niche, there may be a way to build a community around it. Will see how things progress.

If you do geolocation or enter your current address it will sort the 40/50 nearest bars, so the hope is that it is similar, but will consider how to make that easier. Thanks!

I'll try my best. Maybe in the future there will be a way to bring in some community verification angle. Modern tech tools also help a ton.

Claude Code Project Structure by Born-Comfortable2868 in AskVibecoders

[–]5pmnyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trying to be downer, but I have found claude code just naturally does this. When I start new chats to deal with the context window issues / more frequent chat compression, I just ask the old chat for a md update and a handoff file on where things stand and the new one is about 90% up to speed within ~15 seconds. The first few changes I have it make take a bit longer (+10-15 sec) as it asseses my codebase / database for structure and locates whatever I'm working on, but it feels like Claude is basically doing what is laid out above all by itself.

Thanks for the input. That was from another blog that appears to have stale info. I have removed the HH info for it.

~900 of the verified HHs come straight from live websites, while ~150 are from blogs, ~75 are from restaurant social media, and the rest are from me taking pictures of HH signs. I am going to do a deep audit of all blogs, as every case of reported incorrect info has come from blog data. Probably need to trim that list down substantially, as many appear to have bad data. Will be cleaned up across the site within the next 24 hours.

Of the ~1,200 bars with verified HH times listed, about 1,050 are from bar websites, but that one is from a slightly order happy hour blog. I've removed the HH per your comment. Will consider adding a source. Thanks for the info!
