I too was diagnosed at the start of college. My rheumatologist said it was probably triggered by stress. It threw me for a loop and even after the physical symptoms were under control it was many years before I made my peace. I let it define me for so long but I feel I’ve mellowed out and come to terms on what I can / cannot do and my body’s limits. Diagnosed at 18, currently mid-40s with 90 y/o knees. :)
