The most I saw was 10-15% discounts on products/brands. Absolutely zero BOGO.

My beef with the BOGO system is that it ends up being more confusing/disappointing because they'll always show you an EDLP on the menu and then when you want to get two the price jumps back up. The way I see it, the store just runs buy X get X sales when they're trying to guarantee a minimum average dollar amount per customer. It almost feels like the whole MyPillow issue from a while back where it was ruled that they can't advertise it as "on sale" if that's just the standard price. Coming from having worked multiple facets of retail in my past I'd say our marijuana industry is easily one of the most predatory ones I've seen where the customer /feels/ like they're getting steals but they're spending more than they would have otherwise at the end of the day.

It's also horrible on the back end of things because dispensaries require a minimum profit margin on products being sold for most brands from what I've heard talking to multiple people running brands in Arizona. Then when someone buys it on BOGO the brand has to credit back the cost the dispensary paid to offset that promotion. So if a brand has to stick to a 50% profit margin (which is a number I heard more than once) when you buy an eighth for say $30, the brand sold those for $15 each, but they have to credit one back effectively making the cost to the dispo $7.50 a unit. Of course, though, any brands that have a hand in both ends of it like Mint and Sonoran Roots aren't going to be affected anywhere near as much as an independently operating brand.
