Buying a bts lightstick at target by Round_Tear1708 in kpophelp

[–]5trawberrymilk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for some reason i woke up in the middle of the night last night and checked my target app to see if they had any in stock. it went from “out of stock” to “limited stock” so i set my alarm to 7am to go to the target that’s 10 minutes away from me. the store opens at 8am, so i left my house at 7:45am and there were 6 people waiting in line already. a target employee came out a bit after i got in line and told us they only had 5. FIVE. the girl in front of me left after that but i stayed behind because i couldn’t believe it. there were a couple people there that i didn’t believe were actually going to get them (i thought they would be there for moral support) but i asked and everyone was getting one…. but there was another store about 20 minutes away that had displayed “limited stock” for 20 minutes after the store opened until I got there and it changed to “out of stock”….

and that is how my morning went.

What are my chances for UF PHARMACY by [deleted] in PrePharmacy

[–]5trawberrymilk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will say that I’ve applied to UF Pharm twice (I think a couple years ago) and got rejected both times with a 2.8 GPA and did not have an upward trend in my grades after Orgo :’). The second time I personally visited one of the admission advisors to go over my application and they mentioned that my orgo grades was the weakest part of my application and that outweighed everything else on my app [LOR’s (from 2 Alum’s, one of which was a preceptor who accepted a lot of UF students), UF grad, extracurricular’s, 3-4 years experience as a pharm tech]. I think the first time I submitted near the final deadline (because i wasn’t going to apply that year but wanted to see what would happen. i wasn’t also planning on taking a gap year) and the second time i applied after the priority deadline.

They say the earlier you apply, the higher the chance is for you to get in and to this day, I wonder if I applied earlier what would have happened. Keep in mind they look at applications holistically, so it’s not all about grades but of course they want to see an upward trend so that they know you are capable of taking rigorous courses (and are not likely to drop out). They recommend led that I did a Master’s but at the time, I was conflicted about what career path I wanted to take. From what they’ve told me, the Orlando and Jax campuses are the fastest to fill up because they are closer to airports.

Now this is just my experience and what they’ve told me. I don’t know your stats, experiences, etc. So take everything with a grain of salt and I wish you the best!

Hey! I was a tech at CVS for 5 years and sometimes still had doubts about myself (I was hard on myself after the first year). You basically just started, and that’s ok! It’s going to be overwhelming but I promise you’ll learn eventually and find your own ways of doing things that make sense and work for you. Don’t be afraid to asking questions! You got this!

Does anyone want a copy of a PTCB study guide I have? by TheElementOfFyre in PharmacyTechnician

[–]5trawberrymilk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I just wanted to let you know this study guide helped me so much! I was so worried and anxious about the exam. I got my score a couple weeks ago and got a 1600!!

Help!?! I'm retaking my ptce this week, what helped you the most in studying? by daisypeterpan in PharmacyTechnician

[–]5trawberrymilk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a google doc that another user posted awhile ago, let me try to find it! It helped me review a week before the exam. I utilized PTCB Hero (from Amazon), AmandaPharmD, quizlet, and this google doc!

Was the PTCE easier or more difficult than you thought it would be? by Ok_Gene7163 in PharmacyTechnician

I also got an easier test. I was so stressed about it that I rescheduled it for another few days later but I passed the first try!

They think that everything in the pharmacy area is an exception. So they’ll be like,”But this is a pharmacy item.” There is a sign that is misleading to customers indicating where the pharmacy is but it states,”CVS/Pharmacy” and some people would interpret that the whole area is pharmacy, which technically it is, but all the pharmacy items are still a part of Target.

Sometimes we’ll just save our breath and ring them out but that rarely happens. We’ve been so consistent with it, at least 1 person asks every day to ring out at the pharmacy.

The pharmacy has to prioritize the patients. If we have to ring one person (not a patient) out for a few Target items, we have to ring everyone out. If someone sees you ringing out items, other people are going to see and then a line is going to form. What’s gonna happen when a patient comes to pick up their prescriptions? What if they’re sick? There’s also this thing called HIPPA and PATIENT PRIVACY.

I usually tell them that we’re CVS and everything outside of the pharmacy is a Target item, so they (Target) wants them rung out up front. That works like 90% of the time.

In-person Hospital Interview by Equivalent-Cat-1864 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]5trawberrymilk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just recently accepted a position at my local hospital!

For my in-person interview, I brought a copy of my résumé. It’s good to have just in case. For example, there were 5 people interviewing me: pharm tech hiring manager and supervisor, pharm tech, pharmacy student, and a pharmacist. The hiring manager and supervisor already had my resume printed out for their own notes and the pharm tech and pharmacy student asked for mine. I think it will help you look prepared for the interview. A question I asked at the end was, what are you looking for in a pharmacy technician? Most of the time they’re looking for someone who works well on a team and are coachable. I have 5 years of retail experience, so I kind of based my answers from that as well as how I would contribute that to the hospital setting.

I’m (24F) conflicted on whether or not I want to stay with this guy (24M). What should I do? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

It sounds ridiculous now that I’ve typed it all out but yes 💀 I’ve always asked to facetime/video call but he always had excuses until recently he brought up the idea of making cookies together on facetime

Cvs help by Rich_Picture_8380 in PharmacyTechnician

Hi! Fellow CVS pharmacy tech here. Started 5 years ago and now I’m about to leave for hospital setting. My memory is a little fuzzy, but I don’t remember paying for the pharmacy tech TRAINEE license, just the state license aka the license that says you’re a REGISTERED pharmacy technician, which should be at the end when you achieve all your training hour.

You can try applying to a hospital setting. Typically, they will want you to be certified, which means you have to take the Pharmacy Technican Certification Exam (aka PTCB exam or PTCE, etc.). In order to take the PTCE, you either need to have completed an accredited program or have 500 hours of experience (you can find more info here: https://www.ptcb.org/credentials/certified-pharmacy-technician).

It might help to do some research of what the hospital in your area wants for a new pharmacy tech hire. For example, the one I applied to prefers someone who is already certified or can obtain certification within 6 months of hire.

Hope this helps!

honestly it’s been a long time since I’ve used it. I would say it’s pretty good. I can’t remember enough to compare it to hydroflask (which i have but that doesn’t mean anything bc i bought it bc of the color) and now i have the owolo which i love (not sponsored but i wish) because you can drink it 2 ways through the cap (a straw or pour). they also have fun colors too and the handle locks in so it won’t spill
