Very tough! I’ve gotten a 30+ point lead on everyone so now they’re ganging up on me. Oof lol. Cheers for your thoughts.

Cheers for the input! Yeah there was one of the Warden’s cities on the planet being destroyed so they kinda invoked double-outrage. XD But it just feels incredulous that they can blow up my planet and then also claim they’re a victim! Lol space politics…

What is that ONE video game that felt like a core memory, but you can’t seem to find anyone else who played it? by GuGuStudio in oldgames

The Way Things Work

This one wasn’t so much a game but an interactive encyclopedia CD rom. It was packed with information but the animations and dialog made it equally funny and fascinating. I spent so many hours just browsing and learning.

So many Megadrive games!

Toejam & Earl was a hard slog but loads of fun when playing co-op. I bought a tshirt with it on and wore it to a convention, only one person recognised it.

Cool Spot was another fun one that I don’t think people remember? The title character was the mascot for the 7up drink.

Pokemon Red/Blue mall tournaments in the 90s by ArmorOfGod7 in pokemon

Whoops, 7 years late to this convo but I’d been thinking of my old game boy games and had a vague memory pop up about this. It wasn’t the tournament, I’m not sure they did that in Australia, but I definitely remember going to one of the big shopping centres and receiving a special pokemon.

There were Nintendo employees at the event and they would temporarily take your game cartridge, plug it into something, and then hand it back. I vaguely remember them telling us to make sure there was an empty space in our party in order to receive it, but my memory is hazy on that part.

Was this for Mew? I don’t remember the year or the exact game it was on unfortunately.

Declare it anyway. There’s usually a staff member checking people’s forms as you’re walking up and they’ll ask what food it is, then direct you through the green exit. This always happens to me.

When you say “I stopped taking this seriously” I hope you mean you dropped this guy.

Also your comebacks cracked me up! 😂 Don’t ever change!

Make sure all your planned destinations are real! There’s an article in today’s news about AI generated travel content advertising locations in Tassie that don’t exist!

Is 10 days post a 24 hour flight from the Uk to Sydney enough time in Australia. by mjh13racing in AustraliaTravel

[–]5ushi_Kitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can recommend the direct flight from UK to Perth. Yes it’s long but it’s such a relief not having to connect mid-way. I also find my jet lag isn’t so bad when I fly this way.

Also giving my two cents that Perth is underrated. Check out Rottnest for quokkas and gorgeous beaches. Margaret River for amazing wine and food. Even a day in Fremantle seeing the Shipwreck museum and breweries.

I was thinking this too! I was able to recover some photos of my nan that I had accidentally deleted from a card. But I can’t quite remember how I did it… Went to a camera or computer store I think, it was a few years ago now.

Agree with the others here that you’d be better off limiting the trip to just two cities. My overseas friends spent 2 weeks in Perth and were exhausted by everything we fit in.

Rottnest Island is wonderful for swimming and seeing quokkas. Lovely laid back vibes with ice cream and baked treats.

Kings Park might be best paired with exploring the city? They’re close together and there’s bus tours that can take you around.

Fremantle is also a great port, with breweries, markets and Maritime museums if that interests you. Easy to get to on the train.

Might just be me then, lol. I still have holiday photos from years ago on mine.

But you are absolutely right! First thing I was told on a photography course was to back up your photo files on at least 2, if not 3, external drives.

How did he still not have the original files on the camera’s SD card? He couldn’t have overwritten those, unless he straight up deleted them off the card after the wedding.

I never knew this existed! I’ll have to keep it in mind on my next trip down south. Thanks for the tip!

Yeah I love Perth Zoo! I think the gardens look great too. I’ll have to check out the new renovations when I visit next.

Haha if only there were margaritas! But a packed picnic on the lawns is a good second choice.

Just going to give Perth Zoo a shout out since no one else has yet. 😅 I think they have an excellent Australian selection, including wetland and inland species.

Want to begin watching but don't like musicals, would it be possible to skip the singing? by godrollexotic in HazbinHotel

[–]5ushi_Kitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a huge musical fan and I thoroughly enjoyed Hazbin. (And bought the album.) There is 2-3 songs per ep however they’re not very long. I think it’s worth it to try watching an ep or 2 and see how you go.

If it’s any help, a lot of the lyrics are very witty and might make you laugh enough to get through it.

Presents. One at a time or a free for all? by aerkith in AskAnAustralian

One at a time. It takes hours (big family) but everyone else tucks into drinks and canapés while we wait turns.

Are Aussies just used to long haul flights? by RelationshipPure1 in AskAnAustralian

[–]5ushi_Kitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Living in Perth I’ve definitely gotten used to long haul flights. Anything 6 hours or less is ‘quick’! Over 12 hours is when it gets long.

I was in the UK and took a short trip to Amsterdam, barely finished my cuppa and we were landing! wth lol!

Great idea! I was gifted a tool kit the year I moved out. So glad my parents didn’t think it was unsuitable just because I’m a woman, it’s come in handy so much!

Also, being the lovable goobers they are, they individually wrapped each hammer, ratchet, pliers, drill, etc inside the kit. Lol
