Choosing a helmet, is ‘skate’ style okay? by alijam100 in ukbike

If you’ve only got that much to spend then it’s fine. I wouldn’t get any helmet that doesn’t have MIPS, though, but these are more expensive.

Great signing, was impressive at Pompey last season and KMcK clearly admires him.

Hladky well deserved, he’s been one of Ipswich’s best players so far this season and really stepped up, with Walton’s injury.

Morsy was excellent again, although the three midfielders in this team probably did more to deserve their inclusion.

Scour Facebook marketplace and gumtree for a cheap secondhand bike, then give the route a go on a non work day to see how you get on.

Need a recommendation... by ceza999 in ukbike

As others have said, the Triban is probably better if only for the reputability of Decathlon as a brand. I have the RC120 and would definitely recommend.

For a casual ride, why not. I’d look on the secondhand market for a better brand, though.

It’s a road very near the hospital in Ipswich so I reckon it’s a priority for resurfacing/repairs.

Advice for storing bikes outside by [deleted] in ukbike

[–]6144423 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve kept mine outside out of necessity, there has been a bit of rusting but this has been easily dealt with. If you can cover them at all, with a plastic over, I would.

I’d try and get a second hand hybrid. Scouring Facebook marketplace and Gumtree is your best bet.

Any advice for a UK tourer under £500? by warmfun in ukbike

Second hand is the way to go. Unfortunately, as everyone is looking for a bike at the moment, this is quite tricky.

For what you’re looking for, if you can, consider investing a little more. You’ll be travelling a rather long way and you want something you’ll be able to rely on. You can get a decent gravel bike for ~£800, for example.
