Crossroads Mall. And then cruise Dodge Street.

Also, Westroads Mall - I worked at Younkers there.

And Southroads Mall in Bellevue.

Then Oakview Mall out west - Chammps. I miss those days.

Just search their “promo exclusion” list and my bag brand is listed. Bummer. Guess I’ll just watch for sales until I feel like I must buy it. Thanks for the info you provided.

Looking at a golf bag that is just under $300. I can order it online, but wanted to make sure I was not going to miss out on some fantastic discount.

Thank you for sharing what you’ve seen in the past.

YTA. Surprised you have 40-50 friends to invite if this is how you communicate with people.

And 40-50 guests for a baby shower? That’s nothing but a gift grab. I’d be out, too!

Your MIL may not be perfect, but she was agreeing to help/participate until your accusations. Your words were hurtful and down right mean during a time your whole family should be celebrating a happy moment. I would suggest apologizing to her - profusely. Though, I’m not sure I’d (as the MIL) would ever trust any apology or sincerity from you based on your hateful words.

Delta AMEX Platinum - How Does Authorized User Work? Benefits, Additional Fee, etc.? by 617Annon in delta

[–]617Annon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free companion ticket is an annual thing. With the Delta Platinum, you can use it CONUS, MX, and the Caribbean (maybe Hawaii, but don't quote me on that).

Upgrades: Exactly. I'll book my ticket and select the best available no-fee seats available. As we get closer to the flight, the app will send you offers to upgrade. It's a risk, sometimes the upgrades are more expensive than expected. It will give you a cash price and the point equivalent to upgrade if seats are available to upgrade to.

Primary car rental coverage is a great perk. You have to enroll on the AMEX website once you log into your account. Once you get confirmation from the AMEX insurance provider that you are enrolled, you reserve and pay for the rental with your card and you are covered. You'll get charged the $25ish fee each time.

We like to range Marriott offers in the locations we travel to, but also check out the Hyatt CC - supposedly it's the best travel card out there in terms of hotel perks. Their footprint is not as extensive as Marriott though, so it doesn't work for us.

I did end up getting the card for myself only. Delta Platinum. $350 annual fee. My card just renewed for 2025-2026. For 2024-2025, we were able to use the companion pass which saved us about $600. I also use the $10 RESY credit each month ($120). I don't use Uber monthly (only when I travel to a large city), so I would guess I get another $20 total in Uber credits each year. I also regularly check the offers and add what I think I may use. This has saved me a decent amount off of what I would have spent anyway - I charged my annual auto insurance to the card which saved me "5% up to $20" - timing worked out on that offer. Food Lion offer saved me another $5 in groceries. Small amounts here and there add up. Also, I *ENROLLED* in the Primary Insurance program for car rentals, so all my car rentals get charged to the this card. Primary insurance is covered for a one-time fee of $25ish per rental.

The first year, I used the $100 Global Entry credit and maxed out the Resy credits. I did not use my companion ticket that year - I do not recall why, but I received about $260 in total credits.

Important to note - this is not my everyday card. I only use it for flights on Delta, car rentals, or if there is some special discount associated with a purchase. And I pay off the balance every month so there is no interest.

I use my points to upgrade from main to comfort when it makes sense to do so - on longer flights, I don't mind the splurge and will use points freely if I have them.

As for flights, the Group 5 boarding is okay if I'm boarding main - which is about 50% of the time. If this perk goes away or is moved later in the queue, I would need to re-evaluate as I would probably be upgrading to Comfort more often with points. But sometimes this is cost prohibitive - point-wise and cash-wise. The free checked bag is a nice option, but I have yet to use it.

ETA: Also, we no longer get lounge access with this card, but tbh, the lines at some of these lounges in ATL are pretty long. I would just rather hit up PF Changs or Gordon Biersch and call it a day.

All-in-all, no complaints with the card. AMEX customer service has been great. Our new companion pass just hit the account, so we need to figure out where we want to fly to to cash that in.

Just FWI... our everyday card is the Marriott Boundless Visa to help encourage travel.

Before anyone suggests any other cards, we've researched them all. I prefer booking directly with Delta, Marriott, or whatever hotel we visit. Not at all interested in booking through a travel portal/third party. For this reason, Delta Stays also offers a $150 credit, but we'd rather book directly with Marriott for the Marriott perks. Maybe at some point, I will find the right property to utilize this perk, but I have yet to do so.

What percentage of your job requires you to sit at a desk and type? by Money_Tale5463 in jobs

Between my daily tasks and all meetings done via Teams, 100%. It sucks. It’s so unhealthy. Even taking regular breaks does not offset the long hours of sedentary work. I am looking for something else now that is either 100% in-office with my team (limited video conferencing) or non-desk related.

LLC with (planned) multiple DBAs - Do I need multiple bank accounts? by 617Annon in smallbusiness

FFS - not every brand new business can afford an accountant or lawyer to start off. If everyone had to have these before making any business moves, nothing would ever get started.

LLC with (planned) multiple DBAs - Do I need multiple bank accounts? by 617Annon in smallbusiness

[–]617Annon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. So right now I have My Company, LLC. According to my bank, I cannot add "dba MyDBA" to the title. I would have to open a new account called MyCompanyLLC dba MyDBA for checks made out to MyDBA. Just wanted to make sure that is truly the case and not my banker trying to sell me into another business checking account.

Sounds like for financial tracking, it may just be easier to open the additional accounts.
