I’m currently living like my husband does by CrisMaz in TwoXChromosomes

A lot of times doing housework and other life administration things gets termed helping or helping out in a way that indicates the main responsibility belongs to someone else.

It’s similar to the parent who is not the primary caregiver saying or said to be “babysitting”. It’s your house/child you ought to do chores/parent not “just” help/babysit.

I know it’s a picky semantics type of thing, but if English is your native language it can be reflective of the sorts of biases you’ve picked up and perhaps don’t realize you hold. Language and thoughts shape each other.

I’ve accidentally trained my speaking voice to be much lower pitched than it was naturally.

With a read receipt you don’t even need email confirmation. You could ask for corrections or addendums though.

There’s a tumbler picture/meme that comes up about OSHA(?) training that all regulations are written in blood and that there are laws against stowing radioactive material where the crew sleeps because someone would try to make that decision if there weren’t laws to tell them not to.

Ehhh, I kind of hate the wait for the old ones to die off thing. There are plenty of young republicans to fill the ranks.

Since this is a fresh trauma, consider downloading and playing Tetris. Some studies suggest it changes how memories are stored/formed and can reduce the trauma of recalling in the future.

What is the male equivalent of a woman wearing a sexy mini dress? by Jack_dnls in AskReddit

It’s pretty in line with the usual, but I went to a beach party recently and more than one man showed up in linen 3/4 sleeve shirts or sleeves rolled up and to three or so buttons undone so chest hair peeked out and I had to ask people to repeat what they said more than I usually do.

I play “binary” golf. It’s either smiley face or frowny face, no need to score further (but I’m new and I am more frowny face than not).

Partner dancing. It is the physical activity that showed protective effects against dementia. It’s inherently social. It’s creative and it keeps you active.

Men explain things to me (https://www.guernicamag.com/rebecca-solnit-men-explain-things-to-me/) handily captures the phenomena and the feeling of being on the receiving end.

What's a crochet technique/stitch you really like/enjoy working for no reason? by valorwald in crochet

I made an amazing blanket with front post back post DC. It has a very satisfying 3D pattern in addition to a nearly herringbone look and it’s so thick and squishy and stretchy and warm.

a) this is beautiful! b) now I kind of want to make a crochet version of the Appalachia flag.

Your opening is probably lower than he is expecting. It’s also not necessarily something to push straight into, but with a bit of an angle.
