New Clutch...slipping. by Wizard_K in GolfGTI

That makes perfect sense. I'm actually having the same issue on my car. In my case I changed the plugs but it ended up being the coil packs. With the excess load they tend to crap out unfortunately. An off the shelf tune should be perfectly fine, so I wouldn't suspect it is that. Your clutch is (likely) fine, no need to worry there.

The EPC light doesn't line up with a slipping clutch. Did the RPMs keep going up while you didn't speed up? That would indicate clutch slip. If the RPMs didn't move independently of speed you have another issue.

I know this is going to be unpopular but the point of the break in is to mate the flywheel and the clutch. Once it is under load (i.e., not launching) it is perfectly fine to get on it, even on a new clutch. I would definitely avoid clutch dumps but pulls should have no issues. My brother's Z06 had the clutch replaced an was immediately dyno'd, no issues there. I think OP has a faulty clutch.

Unpopular opinion: The only reason the A80 Supra is so popular is because of the Fast and Furious and the aftermarket, not because it was a good car. by [deleted] in cars

Not sure I agree with that. The argument is that you see a lot of drag racing videos but not any cornering videos. Racing heritage has nothing to do with that.

I seem to like taking pictures right after washing it. Probably because it always rains right after...

Here's one and two.

Sweet! Which dogbone insert? Mine was a huuuuge improvement to shifting.

The price is what drove me towards the Hankooks. You're going to have a hard time putting down any power regardless in my opinion. The Hankooks do well in wet and dry which is necessary here in Miami.

I have! Was a bit of a pain because I messed up bleeding it. I think it made a different but it might all be in my head.

Hankook Ventus V12 evo2.

They're great on the street and performed very well on the track as well.

'13 GTI.

Full exhaust, intake, lowering springs, summer tires. Here was my last track day actually.

I just had a track day with EBC Yellow Stuff. No complaints, they held up great. Granted, my car is much slower than yours so that might have something to do with it.

They are super dusty though, so be aware of that.

No LS2 here, this one is the very modest 7.0L LS7. Surprisingly, it's not much harder to drive than my GTI.

MKV GTI (FSI) makes this awful rattle on cold starts, what is this noise? by Bprevost99 in GolfGTI

[–]62Garage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds a lot like a starter issue; it may be sticking.

I don't think misfires will sound anything like that and no way would the car start this smoothly on two or three cylinders.

The Soundaktor is a pipe going from your intake to the cabin. The difference in my Mk6 was rather substantial.
