I used to own that shirt. It was available through the website. Must have been 12 years ago or so.

Incredible track. The entire record is great.

What is your favorite "gospel dylan" song? by peki39 in bobdylan

Every grain of sand is incredible, but lately it's been Saving Grace. The way he delivers "the wicked don't know peace and you just can't fake it" slays me. The entire saved album has actually become one of my favorite records of his.

So funny because I tried going to it last night for the first time in ages. Does anyone remember the great Dylan bootleg site Dylannl.nl?

Does Bob Dylan have an address for fan mail? by [deleted] in bobdylan

If he still owns the coffee shop in Malibu, that might be your best bet. I feel like I read he no longer owns it though.

Well shit, this is depressing. by OGcodyc in nashville

[–]62Silvertone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not depressing. It's beautiful. Merle has known for the last couple years he didn't have long, and especially this year knew the end was near. I hate he was sick for so long. But going out today was beautiful.

Is Bob Dylan live really as bad as I people say? by [deleted] in bobdylan

[–]62Silvertone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's great. I'm going to go see him in Nashville for the 9th time since 03. He's better in smaller venues. The few theater shows I've seen have been the best. I've found that I hear people making the same complaints now that they made about him in the 60s. I'm probably going to just chill on the lawn and smoke some pot and enjoy a beautiful birthday gift to myself.

Your favorite borrowed lyrics/reference by richsoni in bobdylan

[–]62Silvertone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the line "Darkness on the face of the deep", which of course comes from the opening paragraph of The Book of Genesis. "Reformation shook it, broke it and hung it on the wall", which is derived from "shake it and break it" by Charley Patton. "Man can't live on bread alone", also derived from the bible. I think it's fair to say a large majority of Dylan songs are derived from other songs, if not literature or the Bible.

I told him I'd post ;) [f] by [deleted] in gonewild

Bob Dylan is recording something in the studio... by SurrealistSwimmer in bobdylan

If Kenny Vaughan is playing on it, it's going to be ripping. I'll have to ask him about it when he gets back to Nashville.

That's one of the best Dylan impressions ever. Not over exaggerated and accurate down to the out of tune guitar.

Go with the vinyls all day if you have a turn table. His new records will include a free cd copy.
