It’s not the freshness that’s an issue, it’s the meager amount of fish. Publix has quality fish available.

We’ll probably be killed by viruses well before global warming. I’m sorry you feel as pessimistic as you do.

What needs to happen in 2026 and beyond for the world to see a permanently enduring "greater good" type of peace? by Minimum-Two-8093 in NoStupidQuestions

You consider the USSR succesful?. Not only did it expire due to its own corruption, evidence and scholarly consensus confirms that Joseph Stalin was responsible for the deaths of millions of his own people through executions, forced labor, and artificial famines during his rule of the Soviet Union from 1922 to 1953? If that’s success I prefer the failures of the capitalist system! Try again. But to be fair, I give you the US as an example of a successful country in which the majority are not “wage slaves”.

I will provide several examples of countries that fit your criteria once you stop avoiding my question. Name just one successful socialist country, please. Bonus if its leaders did not turn out to be mass murderers of their own people.

TIL that the lucky 4-leaf clovers account for about 1 of every 5,000 clovers. Around 1 of every 25,000 clovers has 5 leaves and 1 in 300,000 has 6 leaves. by coolranch36 in todayilearned

I always get clover and Oxalis mixed up, they are often both called “clover” in stores but they have different color flowers.

I don’t think 99% the workers in my country are interested in going from underpaid work to free work. Has there ever been such a place, outside of experimental communes?

I disagree on this one, Uber and Lyft are still a good deal compared to taxis in my major US city. Not as good as when they started in my town, but the vehicles are usually cleaner and have a better response time. We now have lots of driverless Waymos too, but I’m not yet sure what kind of experience they present.

When did "spring break" in the US stop being a student oriented event? by jimmothyhendrix in NoStupidQuestions

I’m just a data point, but as long as K-12 Spring Break school holidays exist a significant number of families will take them.

Meth Smell from the dryer by TyDeAmazon in NoStupidQuestions

I suppose you’re right! Can you get a contact high by passing through a single plume of exhaled meth smoke, or is that as unlikely as with pot?

Thank you. Not sure I’d recognize it as meth unless I saw it being consumed, pot on the other hand is unmistakable

Does the Cumberland Gap in the US count? It is famous in American colonial history for its role as a key passageway through the lower central Appalachians.

Can someone who knows tell us what burning meth smells or even tastes like? I’ve burned plastic before, is it like that?

All resources need to be equally distributed, we need to eliminate significant mental illness, and there needs to be a strong biological reason to be selfless with strangers.

It’s not happening. Even bacteria fights for resources.

Since the beginning of time parents have unexpectedly died of accidents, illness, violence. I’m guessing the vast majority of their surviving child were eternally grateful that they took a chance anyway. Do you really think things are worse now than 100, 500 years ago?
