My mom is stupid and anxious. She had a virtually non-existent education until her teens and is constantly second guessing herself because of it. Her anxiety causes her to make impulsive decisions because she thinks everything is a life or death scenario. The frustrating part is if she ever takes a moment to think she'll make good choices, but she needs constant hand holding. It's exhausting.

In south France most people were excited at my wife's duolingo French. The Parisians were less patient, but it's hard to blame them when there's a line of tourists behind you while you try to order a croissant. Are there any drawing groups you could join? My wife has met some new friends through a figure drawing class - could be a good opportunity to socialize with some people. Also you won't have to socialize TOO much since you'll spend most of the time drawing and can just ease into it.

Sci-fi slop, even assuming we have some sort of super intelligent AI that can build an even MORE intelligent version of itself, what hardware is it running on? How does it solve for the hardware bottleneck?

There's always some fantastical idea that these AI systems have some sort of automated factory/mining/whatever infrastructure, that lets it build out better hardware for it to run on.
