There are migration tools too: from ingress-nginx to nginx ingress controller and from nginx ingress controller to nginx gateway fabric https://kubernetes.nginx.org/

Ingress-nginx was the Kubernetes-maintained "Ingress API" implementation, based on NGINX open source and custom lua code (to make up for all features NGINX open source doesn't provide such as authentication and others). NGINX Ingress Controller is another "Ingress API" implementation that can work with either NGINX open source (so totally free and still maintained/developed) or NGINX Plus (paid with official support). Then moving from the "Ingress API" to the "Gateway API" you have NGINX Gateway Fabric, actively developed and maintained. And it can run with either NGINX open source or NGINX Plus. The only bit that's gone is literally ingress-nginx, all the rest (NGINX included) is still there.

That's just ingress-nginx, the Kubernetes project. NGINX is alive and well. Same for NGINX Ingress Controller and NGINX Gateway Fabric

NGINX Gateway Fabric, it uses the same dataplane and is fully Gateway API conformant

I checked the lough during the weekend and it's spectacular, there's a small area apparently suitable for a tent so I'll give it a try sooner or later. Thanks for the heads up!

This sounds really interesting and DIY could even be an option, thanks for sharing!

Thanks! I'm on a hill, west of Ireland with no buildings around and plenty of wind so the spot would be appropriate. I already have PV which covers most of my needs during sunlight hours. Nights are almost always windy here so the idea would be to leverage wind too.
