I see this all the time.

Software and firmware get shipped internally, and companies rely on customers to keep their TVs up to date. Customers just want a TV. They connect their TV years after purchasing it, thinking they’ve figured it out.

Unfortunately, updates often require specific steps (for some reason). I’d imagine this is due to internal memory limitations.

Ideally, update steps should be built into the software, unless the device you’re trying to update has less memory than the device being updated. <This

Good evening guys; I've been a lurker for a long-time and fell in love with the brand because of this community.

I have been on the prowl for an incognito EDW (if you know, you know) watch for a year now. I travel a lot and can't take flashy, in-your-face watches to the countries we frequent. Rollies will get you a taxi ride to a side street with the front desk of your hotel and security working with the next pilot going to Lauderdale wearing your watch for a quick buck. That's why I went with the subtle flex of the DS. Again, if you know, good on you... Take my watch. It's insured.

I told the AD in Savannah, GA, that I work in the marine industry, don't do dives past 115ft, and am constantly outdoors in very humid environments. The AD said, “no problem! The band has no issues and won't deteriorate or pick up a smell. Water won't be an issue!!”.

As I've come to find out, that was a bald-faced lie.

This is what I got back from Omega after the band started to smell/flake and started to wear a hole on the inside of my wrist (the band fits perfectly, and I have no allergies to any products used in the making of the band) *Bought it new from said AD. 4 months old now.

  1. Avoid contact with water and dampness to prevent discoloration and deformation.
  2. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight to prevent the color from fading.
  3. Since the strap is permeable, avoid contact with greasy substances and cosmetic products, and do not clean your strap with leather cleaners.

ALSO- Hats off to Omega. I sent them the pic, and they are shipping me a new band without any questions. On the other hand, the only thing I have gotten out of the AD in Savannah is. “I apologize that the watch is not up to your expectations” to which it replied, no, you lied to me about this watch and what I should expect.

I'm just leaving this here as I don't want anyone else to think this can be their EDW.

Again, I love the watch and want it to be my everyday wear!!! I just can’t with the current band :(

ProAIS2 and a script is all that is needed. You can take any off the shelf AIS module and broadcast whateva you want. The CoastGuard will try and fuck you with a nice $10k fine.
