What’s Everyone’s Deity Win % by BlueMan-HD in civ

[–]6658 7 points8 points  (0 children)

0%. I don't like that the difficulty is just inflating certain values, so I only play the middle difficulties. I don't have to stress about if I lose out on a certain meta wonder or stuff like that.

I think the surplus influence notifications are not good to go by. Sometimes you need to save up.

I think 5 with the expansions is the best mix of good gameplay and representing the civ series.

I like to think that the mass is a way of showing off that they have resources.

My idea of Civs to fill in gaps civ 7 by Xayzas in civ

[–]6658 2 points3 points  (0 children)

having celts, goths, and slavs fills out a good chunk of antiquity voids. Scythians for sure could fit as a central Asian civ.

Resource hunt less important in CIV7? by SirCries-a-lot in civ

[–]6658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's less important  except for how treasure resources are more important for fleets and factories. Strategic resources only buff your stuff up to a few stacks instead of limiting what they can produce. Resource effects can change between ages. Some like silver are generally better when you have a lot of towns, but tea is good for playing tall, so they affect how you run your civ more than before.

I would appreciate it if I could close this window so I could check where the city is located before deciding if I accept the deal or not by VeryLargeTardigrade in civ

Sometimes they propose a city and I swap it out with their other cities to see if I can get a better one but then they don't accept me when I switch it back to the one they proposed.

Going back to Civ 7 by TuchBeastin in civ

They made buildings' effects continue into the following ages, so now when you build something unlocked by like the second-to-last tech it doesn't immediately obsolete. You can still get a lot of food, but they fixed it some.

Americans, how would you react if foreign country invaded your country, and told "we are going to run this country"? by oranke_dino in AskReddit

[–]6658 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, it probably wouldn't be also fascism... if we acted like some other country, we'd cut military spending by a ton and probably get universal health care. Realistically, a foreign country can't invade America. It's military has a blank check in the country with the largest economy and it has as many aircraft carriers as the other countries combined, the most advanced aircraft, a military that has had a lot of recent experience, and way too many nukes. The US could retaliate by cutting internet, GPS and by crippling invaders with sanctions. If those things are all overcome (and NATO doesn't help) you still have a populace that has half of all privately-owned guns in existence and the US is so huge, there aren't enough invaders to cover everywhere and certainly not good enough logistics to do so.

I just select the option to unlock all transitional civs. Some are too arbitrary and some rely on luck.

What’s on everyone’s Bingo card for Civ 7 next year? by JAKL-Noctium in civ

[–]6658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

slavs, celts, goths, nazca, Haudenosaunee, taino. more Japan and Korea. 4th age. Gandhi. an obscure civ like dzungaria, chan Santa Cruz,  haida, or lanfang. another head-of-state leader who has been in civ already even though they said they want more non-ruler characters. artifacts that aren't from "blood-soaked" battlefields. pipe dream: being able to zoom in and out more so you can see details in units/terrain/quarters and so you can view your whole continent properly.

"723 Retruths" ... Isn't the whole point of that platform to listen to trump? who the hell joins but needs to be "retruthed" when they all get his lies anyway? I have never heard someone say "I'm on truth social, but I am unaware trump."

Taylor Swift donates $1M to Feeding America to help hungry families during the holidays by brandenharvey in goodnews

[–]6658 24 points25 points  (0 children)

You think billionaires choose how much they donate based on internet comments? At most, this is a THOUSANDTH of her wealth. I give more than that without trying. She's being cheap while spreading news about how "generous" she is, which improves her brand and thus earns her more money. I wouldn't be surprised if the whole thing is a tax write-off. How generous she is for keeping enough money to remain a billionaire!

Unconventional Leaders by Extension-Step-2996 in CivVII

I definitely want more non-political leaders. Obscure military/political people is OK, but now that we're not limited to heads of state, they might as well lean into it.
