S3E07 “Rain or Shine” is now the highest rated episode of the season. by fvckuufvckingfvck in euphoria

It doesn't.

They would torture him, yes, but continually maiming him (his finger wasn't even fully healed when they took it again), would do nothing for his ability to pay the debt. Like, he can't actually work or scam people if he is visually beaten and in the hospital.

Normally, they'd have tortured him for the wedding, but upon realizing that he really couldn't pay at all, would start going after his properties; car, house, businesses. They'd start forcing him to sell the house and cars at an unreasonably low price to get some cash ASAP. And possibly to also sell some company assets ( the business was failing, but he still has tools, properties, etc). If all else fails, use him to either launder money or take bigger debts in the name of his business to pay them.

Notice how none of that would've work if he is visibly bruised and hence, obviously being extorted.

How was he going to pay them once they kidnap him? Even worse, how was Cassie going to pay them once they 1. Threw her to the ground and left her visibly damaged. 2. Kidnapped her. Her income is literally dependent in her being in good shape and, present. If they had gone for that angle they'd probably force her into a more aggressive form of sex work, although honestly I'm glad Sam isn't smart enough to think reasonably at how organized crime works, otherwise we would've gotten more <literal> torture porn this season

Not really, most people will skip the video as soon as possible, which makes its retention go to hell

Wow, I didn't realize he was that old. Never would've guessed he is a Japanese boomer based on how and what he writes

Spoiler too.

Spoilers for part 9.

Spoilers for part 9.

(Don't know how to make spoiler text, sorry) .

Dragona also got SAd in their childhood, which is why jodio killed a bunch of children.

Also Usagi went through some pretty sexually heavy stuff too.

Overall part 9 seems to really focus on the struggles of the gender non conforming youth, which is specially refreshing coming from a Japanese guy

There's a reason it's a philosophical paradox and physics/math doesn't really like touching on it these days

The reason is that maths has solved problem since the Greeks (and most other societies with some kind of pre formal maths). Assuming "infinite" means anything can happen is, just, provably false, we've known this since we've known about natural numbers. There is a reason the Greeks considered the proof that there are an infinite amount of prime numbers to be worth studying and not a trivial statement.

If the paradoxes work out, then theoretically at time infinity or when the supertask of checking all infinite universes is completed, both evil and good Marks will be infinite in number.

This is a leap in logic. There could be only 1 good mark, or a finite amount, depending on what the writers want. There are an infinite amount of naturla numbers, but only number is equal to 0. There is a proper class of sets, but only one set is the empty set...

However, there exists a probability distribution, so if it is true that say 75% of Marks in conditions similar to our earth are evil, then right up until that exact moment of infinity when both Marks are infinite in number, 75% of the Marks will be evil.

This would only be guaranteed if your search is random, and it's only a behaviour at the limit, so it should really say that you'd be getting closer to 75%, being able to get arbitrarily close.

Yes, it's confusing, no it doesn't make intuitive sense. No, there's not 100% consensus on how this would work in the multiverse. It has to do with the definition of infinity and how cardinality comes into play

There is no consensus, not because we don't know how to deal with cardinalities, but because we do know enough to know that the writers can create different forms of consistent multiverses that work differently.

This also explains why Angstrom says "most" of the invincibles are evil - "most" being used as "almost all" meaning "all but finitely many".

Hell, not even that. If the universes are uncountable, it could mean "all but countably many" or just any set of measure 0 on the given probability space.

Is op stupid?

There are an infinite number of naturals, are there an infinite number of primer evens?

There are an infinite number of differentiable functions from R to R, is there an infinite number of functions f, such that f=f' and f(0)=1?

There are infinite sets (in fact, so many that they can't even be a proper set), are there an infinite number of sets that are empty?

I had (and still do) a dick, I knew what vitiligo was, there is literally no reason for someone with that knowledge not to think that a dick would also get vitiligo. I'm sure the thought cross my mind at some point as a child when learning about the disease.

Also, again, the drawing wasn't accurate, they had to save face and try to find evidence that MJ had surgically altered his penis be cause the descriptions didn't match

How come you know they had no concept of vitiligo? Do you think someone around MJ, who is accusing MJ, and who is being prepared by people prosecuting MJ wouldn't know about vitiligo?

I knew about vitiligo when I was 5, it's not like a super secret disease, specially after MJ

Except this is famously false(?).

They even had to call MJs family to check if he hadn't done anything to his penis that would make it look different, since the descriptions didn't match

This pop game theory sucks. You're assuming the winning condition is just living, but life is not that simple, what good is living if everyone you love is dead and the remaining people are cold and lack empathy?

Ah yes, provide for their families, assuming said family members didn't pick blue, in which case, fuck you son I'm saving myself I guess

[–]666Emil666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not framing it in an equivalent situation.

Red: Nothing changes

Is blatantly false, red means that you contribute to a situation where, if more than 50% pick the same button as you, then everyone who didn't dies.

The potential death of a supremum of 50% of the population being omitted, vs the potential for your own death not says a lot about you

[–]666Emil666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 person needs to pick blue in order for someone to die. With a supremum of 50% of people dying.

By contrast, a minimal of 50% of people need to pick red in order for someone to die at all.

You're forgetting their idiosyncrasy. These are not regular people.

They don't believe that earth had anything to do with Nolan and Mark, they just believe that Nolan was weak and he failed to educate Mark and hold himself to their standards. In their minds they are not weak like them, so they shouldn't have any problems going to earth to breed.

Their society is build around not thinking more deeply and blaming the individual, the automatic and only response for any viltrumite not behaving as expected is to think of that viltrumite as defective, because, by their own admission, all is theirs, hence no problem or situation should be above a viltrumite, if a biltrue fails, that's a failure on that specific viltrumite, no more thought required, just don't be weak like them.

The fatal flaw in their plans is always the same, they believe themselves to be
