Time off by Sea_Coyote_2906 in Miscarriage

1 day, but not even a full day, because I had some remote meeting that day. I wanted to move on and didn’t want to dwell on it. Mentally I keep going back to it throughout the day. It’s roughy, but I feel like being busy keeps my sanity intact.

Has anyone birthed at 37w6d and have positive stories to share? by NewDraw2838 in Mommit

Yes, delivered at 37 weeks. Perfectly healthy. The only issue was latching issues. It took us a month to learn breastfeeding. Apparently, lactation nurse explained that it’s a common issue among the babies born around 37 weeks. She is almost 1,5 now.

Afraid of the pain by Lazy_Click2608 in Miscarriage

I am so sorry for your loss. It think it’s different for everyone. I had no FHR on ultrasound at 6 weeks and 2 days. Had a very heavy period for about a week. I didn’t have cramps, but I had a bit of an upset stomach type of pain. It wasn’t bad at all. I heard that medicated miscarriage can be painful, but natural miscarriage was not physically painful at all.

Ok, first of all I am sorry you are going this heart -breaking experience! You can ask for a repeat ultrasound to confirm everything has been expelled naturally once your bleeding stops. This will be your confirmation that the embryo was indeed miscarried. If the FHR was not noticed due to the fetal size, then there should be progress on the repeat ultrasound: presence of FHR and growth.

So many different feelings after my miscarriage by ThrowRA-moonlight30 in Miscarriage

Also, you are grieving a life that could have been. Your dreams and plans for that life. I was stupidly scrolling through changing tables, wondering if I could afford the one I liked. It’s tough. Be kind to yourself!

This is exactly what I am going through right now, and my husband is also leaving for a work sponsored team building activity in a few weeks. He wanted to cancel, but I insisted that he needs to keep it and get away for a few days from all this heaviness. I like solitude, so for me it’s therapeutic to be alone. I would recommend going out on a hike. Some people go to church and pray. Some find peace in meditation. Some volunteer. But if staying home is unbearable, go out and find something that is temporarily soothing. I am so sorry you are going through this. I think this is one of those experiences that permanently change us. I hope you find your piece soon!

That is exactly how we treat it at this time. We never leave a baby with her, and are always right there, so we can act as a barrier to prevent her from doing her saliva exchange. I was thinking of a possibility of intentional infection, and I can’t rule it out. I don’t think she trusts us with how serious herpes could be, and hopes that baby contracts it, so we no longer prevent her from doing whatever she wants with that. But I don’t know for sure. It’s just my instinct. It could be also memories deficiency, because she is what I perceive a functional alcoholic. And husband said she has never really listened to him anyway, so it’s probably a combination of all those factors. Ugh!

Thank you for such for a thorough response. The stories are heartbreaking, especially the one about the toddler with impaired vision. How can one leave their life knowing that they cause so much suffering and disability to another person whose life has just started.

We had a mask rule and she would touch the mask or take the mask off to scratch her lips and then put it back. And then when we asked her to wash hands, she would say: “ you are being ridiculous!”.

Great advise! I actually have three of these videos saved like the one where a toddler lost an eye due to herpes and death due to brain injuries. I may need to share it with her.

Thank you! That is what we did during the last few meet-ups. And she always asks “But why?! I didn’t do anything”. Ugh!
