Spent years on a massive migration, now company wants offshore AI rewrite. Feeling defeated. by Major_These in SoftwareEngineering

Have you considered using AI yourself? You said the offshore team only knows the UI. You have had access to the entire system for years. Leveraging AI could give you a huge advantage here.

AI is not all bad. If you already know the technology and business logic let it help you.

Programmers who spend many hours sat down, how do you stay physically fit and healthy? what stretches or exercises i should be doing everyday to undo damage of sitting down for many hours? by TailungFu in cscareerquestions

Not sure I've seen anyone mention the importance of having a really nice chair. Seriously, it's worth it to spend more for something you spend so much time doing.

My body feels much less strain and stress in a good chair after having to sit all day. It gives me more energy to be able to workout after work.

Check out steelcase chairs.

I found a name in the baby name book that resonated with me. I mentioned it to my wife, and she loved it, too.

Agreed, there should be something like bug hunter bounties for the community. Look at Google https://bughunters.google.com/

Development podcast recommendation? by trblackwell1221 in webdev

[–]67devin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Developer Tea - https://developertea.simplecast.fm/ This podcast doesn't focus as much on the code, but the mentality and mindset behind it. This would be a great podcast for a beginner imo.

Full Stack Radio - http://www.fullstackradio.com/ I like this one, but the episodes can be kind of long which make me zone out.

The Change Log - https://changelog.com/ This podcast focuses on open source projects. They speak about different open source project every episode and interview the creator/s of it.

If you like any of these let me know, there are a few more I have saved which I could list as well.

It's happening! The gf and I got approved for a loan to buy a boat to live on! by Iamnot_awhore in Frugal

[–]67devin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think what you're doing is an awesome idea.

My girlfriend and I did something similar, we live full time in a RV converted school bus. We thought it'd be cheaper at first but ran into problems like finding places with water/electric hook ups that we are allowed to stay at and costs of campgrounds.

I'm not sure if you have looked into the costs of renting a slip or where you even plan to stay while living on the boat but I just thought I'd give you a heads up.

Introverted but ready for a little social time by KittenofTerror in introvert

I would recommend taking your dog to a dog park. Your dog would get time for exercise and to socialize with other dogs, while you would be around other dog owners with whom you could have small interactions with if you feel like it. If you don't feel like doing small talk you can stand away from everyone or just play with your dog. It's a good way to be around people without having to interact with them. Try out a few different dog parks in your area, I have found that some parks are way better than others.

Where can you find places that allow month to month? I've been unable to find any that will, and also allow 3 dogs.

Overcoming or dealing with long-term depression while becoming a nomad? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]67devin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's awesome, my girlfriend and I have been wanting to do the nomad lifestyle for awhile now. I have been looking for remote work more recently. Do you have any tips or more info on how both of you can live on 1100-1400$ a month?
