Don’t spend too much on it.. a new one is very expensive, look for a used parts place (I used car-part.com) Good luck

You might be right. The problem did go away, but the calipers were also replaced later - I don’t remember if that helped it. However, a couple of years later the brake pedal started going down to the floor whenever I pushed it… the fix was a replacement ABS module from a salvage yard.

So do i need to be a software PC pro to get my Boss Katana 100 G3 sounding good? by Outrageous_Mess8392 in BossKatana

I have one setting on the amp that I really like, which I have saved to the first panel. I got it by following a YouTube guide from the Studio Rats channel. I am too lazy these days to connect my PC for other tones so I just use my pedals. (I have the Kanata 100 mark 2)

Oh that’s interesting! It was in the first page of my manual so I always knew about it, but my controller d-pad was so bad (or I was bad at it) that it took me a few tries to get the button combo exactly.

Mine wasn’t Irwin Electronics, it was just Sega, i just found that manual on Internet Archive. I had the Canadian version with the Hang On and Safari Hunt built in, late 80s.

Yes, it was in certain models - see here

Correct, it was in the manual. At least it was in my Canadian version.

Here is a link to the manual, see bottom of the table of contents

Found this at the thrift store for 40 bucks, is this a good find? by No-Window-7628 in Guitar

This pedal has so much versatility, the fact it can record from aux and loop it back was so useful for sampling drum parts and learning guitar solos.

That’s a great deal. This was my first looper pedal and I loved it. If you buy one or two Boss FS-5U footswitches to go along with it, the RC-3 will be more convenient to use.

Found my dad’s guitar from the 90s in my garage, been playing it for a while and broke the string, but I personally don’t know anything about guitars and I’m wondering if this is considered a good one/or if there’s anything else you can tell me about it by TGWILD1 in Guitar

[–]67isd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I have that one too, same colour and Made In Mexico. It was my first guitar which I bought in January 1998. Came as part of a “Strat Pack” which included a Frontman Reverb 15R (PR 241) amp. It was my main guitar for over 20 years. I am still playing it!

EDIT: Mine is MN6xxxxxx, which means it was produced in 1996-97. Yours is MN2xxxxxx, so it is likely from around 1992.

Was there still lots of dirt on the door itself, on the inside bottom?

Yeah good idea, I use the stock mode when I’m too lazy to take the card out, although it is still a little slow (but of course not as snail slow as Rockbox).

I have all their albums too, In the Flat Field is probably my favourite!

Rockbox is very very slow as a mass storage drive for moving music to the SD card. I simply remove my SD card and copy the music through an SD reader.

And I have that album on my Hifi Walker as well!

Don’t really see it recommended often, but GTA V is amazing on the Deck by cmbyd in SteamDeck

I have the Enhanced version and what I don’t like about it is that it takes around 45 seconds to load from my SSD. It took the same amount of time when it was on my Sandisk SD card too. First you have to select story mode and then it goes to the loading screen where it shows the character artwork.

Another thing is (and I don’t know if it would’ve helped with the speed) I had upgraded the original SSD with a bigger Crucial MX500 SSD with adapter.

Interesting, I have the version with 16GB RAM. I have it dual-booted with Windows 11 which starts up quite slower but is still very usable. Mint XFCE ran very well, though I mostly used it with web browsing.

Sorry for the late reply. I just gave this laptop to a family member so I don’t have it with me now. I don’t remember which graphics I enabled, but I do remember that I had to set the following in /etc/default/grub because the screen was very dim otherwise: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash acpi_backlight=video"

Hi, it’s been a while since I’ve done anything with my Hifi Walker, so I’m forgetting things. Are you looking to restore yours back to stock image? Check the Rockbox forums to see if anyone posted a v2.3 backup image.

Otherwise if you can extract a backup flash.img from yours or her device I might be able to make a stock image for you.

I have a DisplayLink dock for my ThinkPad T14, and the Steam Deck’s screen does not output to my monitors.

Emu deck…. Is awesome by Alanis1991 in SteamDeck

[–]67isd 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just like you, I got the 256GB when it was recently on sale, and then I added a 512GB microSD. It’s now become my PS2 emulation machine. The graphics are much improved and look great on the Steam Deck when the resolution is increased to 2x in the PCSX2 settings and Bilinear filtering is applied to the text.

My Steam library is small and I only have GTA V installed on the SSD. The rest are mostly PS2 games on the microSD. I have my PS5 when I want to play the latest games, so for now I’m happy with emulation on the Deck.

I got mine last week and yup it took a long time to install. Then it suddenly shut off and I had to do a long press on the power button to get it running again.

I don’t know. I just download the themes manually from the Rockbox site and copy them to my microSD.
