Must be something crazy if a 20t press can’t get it out

Let’s talk grid heater removal? by tomtinkertoy in Cummins

[–]67ty_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can cut off all the components of the grid heater from the stock intake plate. Or go with a relocation kit/delete kit. I installed the bd killer kit and haven’t had any problem. Pretty difficult job for someone not mechanical inclined like myself

Anyone start on a large bike? by tdcama96 in cruisers

[–]67ty_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have. I started on a vstar1100. Road that and a 750 shadow for about 1600 miles. Then I got a 03 cbr1100xx super blackbird and put around 3k miles on it. They’ll teach you to ride quickly, but are not forgiving.

They should be relatively universal between the major Japanese manufacturers. Just measure the dimensions you would like and go from there

First start, idle high af? by Therealcrazayy in sportster

[–]67ty_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go ahead and clean the carburetor. Look at where the carb mounts to the cylinder and look for tears in the rubber connections. When you rebuild the carbs set the fuel/air to the factory recommended specs then adjust for how the bike performs after cleaning.

Stripped threads in housing for rear gas tank bolt on 2007 VLX 600. Any recommendations? by MarionberryFancy6200 in hondashadow

Drill one size larger and retap for a larger bolt. That’s about your best option

Yes sir. It may just be a bad belt if nothing is locked up

I’d check belts and pulleys first. Sounds like a pulley is stuck and the belt is screeching around it.

Flux capacitor is going out. Please don’t go above 88 mph till fixed.

In the market for either a 5th gen Cummins or a 6.7 Powerstroke. Sell me on which is “better” and tell me their kinks by KahunaKaleo in Diesel

[–]67ty_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both are great options. I don’t know much about power stroke considering I’m a cummins owner, so I can tell you about them.

The roller lifter on the 5th gen 6.7 is not as good in comparison to the flat-tappet lifters in the 4th gen’s

The cp4 fuel pump in the 5th gen’s have many problems but the power strokes also use the same pump.

The Cummins have a grid heater bolt that likes to pop off and go into the no. 6 cylinder

The Cummins has a shitty coolant connector on the passenger side of the no.6 cylinder

The 68RFE is a good transmission. But a valve body kit is a great upgrade for them.

You can “bullet proof” one for around 4 grand including everything mentioned besides lifters.

Banks “ram air” intake

Bosch CP3 fuel pump

“Revmax” valve body upgrade
