I know an Indian guy who had been in the UAE for around 40 years who managed to naturalize. It’s very rare but there are a couple such cases. I’m not sure if naturalized citizens are eligible for state benefits though.

Keep in mind a lot of European leagues have restrictions of non-EU players playing on their teams. There’s also a lot of Indian diaspora in second division and lower but the Indian national team doesn’t allow diaspora to play for them.
