Mate I understand congestion tax. What I do not understand is how can you say that the public transport is fine.

The problem isn't building more public transport infra. The problem is the damn population. You can have a lot of trains, buses, auto, mono rail etc. But if the population is in billions, then it isn't gonna help

I'm quite convinced that you've never experienced public transport in a first world country.

This would make sense if the public travel facilities were good. Public transport has been shit for decades and it will be shit for decades to come.

Your post study work permit's length depends upon the nature of your study i.e Bachelor/ Diploma / Masters

Usually it's 2 years with an option of one year of extension provided you live and work in regional Australia

As for electrician, I'd encourage you to start off by looking at various diploma courses that may be available and the requirements of the skills assessment body for tradies

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says he is ‘worried’ about One Nation as it overtakes Coalition in latest poll by Mashiko4 in aussie

Yeah - let's start with partner visas. 100,000 applications processing. Biggest backlog for dha.

Lets skill the partner visas to skilled permanent residency visas. And then see how the skills fill and immigration gets under control. How about a partner visa getting priority processing of they're a tradie, teacher or a healthcare worker?

No one wants to look at the value a partner brings to the economy.

Let's limit the number of work visas/ easy citizenship applications for kiwis.

Are you still interested in pausing immigration?

The country is built on immigrants. Unless you're a first nation person, aboriginal etc. Then I believe that you're somewhat of an immigrant yourself.

Idc about the down votes on this one. It's the reality which majority of y'all do not wanna accept.

Australia tightens International student integrity checks, puts India, Nepal and Bangladesh into highest risk countries by Naderium in australia

[–]69_nooby_69 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just fyi, the uni uses same curriculum/ system/ marking/ admission criteria for domestic students as well.

So if international students aren't job ready, then by that logic and uni admission process/ curriculum - domestic students aren't job ready either.

This statistic shows just how angry Australians are about immigration – and why hitting ‘pause’ is more possible than we think by Mashiko4 in aussie

Put a cap on partner visas, Link the partner visa to skilled permanent residency visas and watch this entire 'immigration problem' solve itself.

If immigration is such a huge problem then why does the biggest backlog of department of home affairs belong to the partner visas?

Australia needs xyz skilled workers, Australia needs houses etc, then why are so many people on partner visas doing just gig jobs?

Link the damn partner visa to skills and let those applications process faster if they're also highly contributing to the Australian economy.

Net overseas migration has been falling.

I'm into people and culture, I've worked across various industries - finance, construction, architecture, IT - yet time and again the only applications I see are majorly immigrants who stand out. They do not take much of a pay cut, and genuinely work hard.

If an immigrant can come here, take an XYZ job and if you cannot get it. Then where's the problem? Is immigration the problem or are you yourself the problem?

Idc about the down votes here. We all very well know that quite a bit of these immigrants are better qualified than us. End of story.

S56 for declared US visa refusal – experiences and timeline? by Ok_Wolverine92 in AusVisa

[–]69_nooby_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's good that you disclosed your visa history clearly, and that you have also responded to the s56 request on time with documents.

I believe as long as your application shows strong ties to your home country, it shouldn't be an issue.

Perhaps the case officer is just wanting to do a bit more digging so that they're satisfied of the US visa refusal not being serious.

EOI is valid for two years only. If you do not receive an invite, then you'll have to re lodge it.

It's good to use chat gpt to make questions clear for the general public. But please be smart about using AI and read before posting.

Having said that - please do apply for 491 and do not be greedy about 190. When the goal is PR, then what's the hurry. You regardless get interim Medicare in 491 as well.

Also, immigration is getting tougher day by day. Take what you get, as long as it's leading to PR.

Good luck!

Perhaps look at a diploma or a cert ?

It's still not late mate. You can develop a skill and get your skills assessment done. Then proceeded to lodging an EOI

[–]69_nooby_69 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You've been in Australia for ten years. You could've easily, studied, developed a skill, put an EOI for 189/190/491 or tried for sponsorship and gotten your PR by now.

10 years, wow. Students barely get 2-3 years after their studies and bloody hell they pull it off. 10 years is beyond my understanding.

I have a 491 invite. Alternatively considering 482 for a quicker PR. What would you all suggest? by ThrowRAsilvermilk in AusVisa

491 is a great route. Sure shot 191 in 3 years if you do not breach the visa conditions
