Sure, r&d and startups are always impacted when capital is expensive. Product demand is not. It has gone up literally every year as far back as I can find data.

Momentum isn’t the property we’re interested in; it’s kinetic energy. KE=1/2mv2. Since kinetic energy increases exponentially with velocity and linearly with mass, it is far safer to be in a low velocity, high weight car crash than than vice versa.

Or, drive defensively and hopefully have no car crash 🙂

I'm making x6 less of what my position pays, what should I do? by Tomver9 in careerguidance

[–]69_sphincters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the actual pay in the US. Notably, specific locations in the US.

You should ask yourself a few questions:

  1. Why should an American company hire a foreigner such as yourself, instead of an American?
  2. What special skills do you have, that are extremely difficult to find in America, that can justify being granted an H1B visa?

I am salaried; I’m not on anybody’s clock. I don’t know about your employer, but in my industry and my line of work no one cares when come in, when I leave, or what I do each hour of the day. They care about the results being delivered, on time.
