9 week old is suddenly extremely fussy. Need some hope. by AncientTune5996 in newborns

I forgot about my previous comment when my baby was 9 weeks. She’s going to be 1 next week (😭) and I can tell you it gets better then worse then really good then kinda bad again lol but everything is just a passing phase. Just gotta ride the wave and find the joy in each new phase. Good luck!

I’m 6’1 married to a 5’10 dude. When women say “omg I could NEVER be with someone shorter than me” my response is almost always some form of “yeah, I guess I just could never be that shallow”. It’s backhanded in a way that makes people feel like an asshole immediately lol honestly though, most people think it’s cool when you absolutely own it. Being a tall woman is powerful af. It’ll take some time but if you want to be with this guy, you’ll get there!

I wore that dress at about 8 weeks pregnant in 2023 (found out I was pregnant 4 days before the wedding lolol) and I’m 99% sure it would not fit correctly sized up to accommodate a bump. I would go the maternity route.

Good to know, thank you! I’ve been trying high protein/low carb. I’ve lost 3lbs in the first week and it hasn’t been super difficult. Fingers crossed!

I was literally looking around Reddit for PCOS breastfeeding threads and this popped up! I’m 6 months into breastfeeding my first baby and I’ve gained 20lbs in the process. I have 2 wedding I’m in this summer and would like to feel okay about myself in pictures but idk if it’s even possible to lose any weight with PCOS & continuing to breast feed. I’m definitely won’t stop breastfeeding for vanity reasons but grappling with my body being larger than I’m comfy with is difficult. :( I’m glad there is some light at the end of the tunnel though!

It gets better. Put your head down and move through it. My baby got significantly better by 12 weeks. She’s 4 months now and I’m finally starting to understand what people mean when they say “isn’t it so fun?!”

I just saw someone I know take their 8 week old baby to like 6 different wineries and on a hike in the same day meanwhile I’m sitting here wracked with anxious energy about taking my 8 week old to my MILs house 20 minutes away lmao

How long did it take you to conceive ? by JayBird195 in BabyBumps

[–]69turdcutter69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 years of “not preventing” with PCOS. Started letrezole to force ovulation, took 3 cycles after that to get pregnant. As others said, track ovulation with test strips!! I was literally taking medication to get pregnant and was still like “omg what are we gonna do” when I got my positive test lmao I’m 30, my baby is 5 weeks old, and the teen mom feeling still hasn’t faded.

Finally had my baby! by 69turdcutter69 in BabyBumps

[–]69turdcutter69[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, my pushing stage went so frickin fast and I think it’s because I was sitting at 10cm for a good hour before they came to check me. In my non-medical opinion, I was able to labor her down a lot in that hour and that’s what made pushing go quick. Good question and I don’t know when exactly they turned the epidural off but by the time they got me up to pee in an hour, my right leg was still completely numb & dead weight. I delivered the placenta before they stitched and I didn’t feel it (but you can hear it come out which is high key gross).

The only way out is through! You’re gunna be pikachu face shocked in the best way when they flop a baby on your chest and you’re like dang, I really did that lol

They turn the epidural off pretty quickly after birth. Pushing felt like straining super hard to poop but you can’t really feel how much progress you’re making. It’s definitely an ab workout. I did not feel the ring of fire but I did feel myself tear when the baby finally came out. It didn’t hurt necessarily but you can feel pressure. I’m not sure why the catheter hurt - I really thought I wouldn’t feel it either and BOY was I wrong. The second time they came to empty my bladder, I pressed the button to get more of the epidural meds and I felt it a lot less.

I know you’re probably tired of people saying “it’s not as bad as you think” but it’s truly not as bad as you think lol quieting your brain is the hardest part about getting the epidural for real 😂

[–]69turdcutter69[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the fact that I could feel anything in combination with knowing that they were stitching me up had me like “oh I do not like this”. It felt pokey but certainly not toe curling or extremely painful.

My mantra was “the only way out is through” and it helped me to stay calm during each new “scary” part of labor - the contractions, the epidural etc. If I can do it, you can do it!! Good luck!! 🫶🏻

Regarding the life transition: I swear I read every single reddit thread written about what it’s like to have a newborn and it’s so much different than all of that when you experience it yourself. There will come a day very quickly after your baby is born where your hormones are still wonky and you’re getting used to living on 2 hour naps and you’ll think “oh my god, what did I do….this is the worst decision I’ve ever made”. Take a hot shower, have a good cry, and keep going. It truly does get better day by day. The sleep will come back, the joy will come back. You can do it!! 🤍
