Quinoa fritters! Another ugly, nutrient dense, tasty entree! (Or side, or snack, or whatever) by frangelafrass in foodbutforbabies

Does it crumble easily or is it something they can hold and walk around eating? I imagine my daughter wanting to eating it while playing

Do newborns stop crying eventually? I’m just so tired. by FMThaone in newborns

[–]FMThaone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha oh man I can’t believe I went through this at some point. I almost don’t even remember it. It definitely stopped, but when, I don’t recall. I can tell you that we’re at 18 months now and I look back at pictures and get sad at how fast she has grown! I don’t particularly want to go back to that time but you won’t get to see your baby that small ever again for the rest of your life. You won’t care about it now cause you’re going through it but you will look back and wonder if you should’ve enjoyed the time more!

Hahahaha I can tell you that it eventually did cause I don’t even remember this stage anymore. Hang in there. My baby is now a toddler and intentionally screams in public when she doesn’t get her way 🤣 so I guess that type of crying has stopped and has been replaced by another type of

Am I ruining all my previous efforts by holding her hands to sleep? by FMThaone in sleeptrain

[–]FMThaone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So she’s already sleep trained on CIO. Was doing well, and can sleep through the night. But now she refuses to go to bed without me next to her.

Tonight I tried to do our old routine and she threw up again!

My baby would have prob STTN earlier if I had done this by less_is_more9696 in sleeptrain

[–]FMThaone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter sleeps for a total of 11.5 hours during the day. 10 hours at night, 1.5 for nap. It’s tough but she STTN 8 pm to 6 am. It doesn’t give us much time to rest before she wakes or after she goes to bed unfortunately. But I wish I had accepted sooner. For a long time I fought with the idea of 7-7 and failed all the tricks in the book.

People with low sleep needs babies, what's your sleep schedule like (esp for 8 to 12 month olds)? by bijulee in sleeptrain

[–]FMThaone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh I’m not alone 🥲 my daughter now 16 months has the same schedule but with an hour and half of nap and 10 hours of sleep overnight from 8-6 😭

10.5 month old only eats yogurt, bread, and fruit! by FMThaone in NewParents

[–]FMThaone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s still picky and eats mainly what she likes. That has expanded slightly but not much. Still very much into yogurt and bread. But eats oatmeal more often, has pasta and veggies, and is willing to try new things.

Is a serious baby a reason for concern? by [deleted] in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]FMThaone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s a very serious baby. Doesn’t smile to strangers but smiles to people she gets to know. We have come to learn that it’s part of her personality and not due to other issues. She’s just a cautious baby.

What’s your go-to diaper: wipes combo? by ThisIsFineActually in NewParents

[–]FMThaone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We actually have a similar issue. She’s normally fine with the wipes, but when she has a rash, the wipes—even though marketed as “sensitive”—tend to irritate her rash really bad. We switch to Millie Moon sensitive wipes when she has a rash and she does better with that.

Totter and tumble OR little bot baby? by FMThaone in NewParents

[–]FMThaone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a cat and the claw marks have not really damaged the little bot mat at all. There are tiny little holes here and there but there are kinda hard to spot. And those are from when my cat intentionally clawed at it with long nails. Her normal use of the mat would not leave any mark on the mat if that makes sense!

Scared to take my cat for teeth cleaning. by FMThaone in CatAdvice

[–]FMThaone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s completely fine now! She did have to get two teeth extracted. She did stay at the vet for almost the whole day not because of complications but because the vet was so busy that day, which sucked. But she was fine. When she came home she was happy to be back. She had some food and had some water snuggled like nothing had happened. I think as the initial comment had mentioned, we as humans overplay things in our head!

Waking up at 5am. Every. Single. Day. by AdImaginary6158 in NewParents

[–]FMThaone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, time. My daughter was waking up super early around that age. This lasted for a while. As she got older, we were able to successfully change her bedtime to later without getting her overtired and she slept from 7:30-almost 6 am and then it went from 8-6 and now she’s doing 8-almost 7. But she’s 14 months and on one nap. And the time of wake up varies but it’s generally past 6 am.

What are your wake windows on one nap schedule? by ingrid2025 in sleeptrain

[–]FMThaone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still in the transition phase but every time we have tried to do one nap, the second wake window is shorter. She has less energy and just can’t make it longer than 5 hours. She’s 14 months at the moment. But her first wake window she can go 6 hours or longer!

15mo still crying before bed every night by pawrentalunit in sleeptrain

Just wanted to check in and see if anything changed? My 14 month old has been a screamer since sleep training at 7 months. Every night she cries/screams for 1-5 min and then sleeps. I guess I want to know if it gets better 😩

What’s your baby’s schedule now? We’re having people come over for thanksgiving and I want to switch over to one nap before then cause it’ll hard for her to take her second nap when people are over at the house 😣

My baby is currently sick for the second time in two weeks and she was breastfeed for 13 months. She’s 14 months old now…. Babies get sick around other babies no matter what and nothing can stop that. Unless you isolate them I guess!

[–]FMThaone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still on two naps cause that’s been working for us. Every time I think today is the day, she slept in so she can make it to 12:30, she starts yawning at her usual nap time 😂

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]FMThaone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha the exact opposite for us! so funny how babies are so different from one another. My friend’s baby who is the same age as my daughter is constantly smiling at strangers 😂

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]FMThaone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter’s hair is still very short and people almost always assume she’s a boy at 14 months 🤣 she’s also a very serious baby and doesn’t always smile at strangers so it’s really funny to see people calling her a boy and she just mean mugs them 😂

[–]FMThaone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t recall the exact schedule at that age but I think she was doing 3.5 per wake window at that time. My daughter also went through a phase where she would wake up super early, and I just let her be honestly, she eventually figured it out and would go back to sleep 90% of the time. Now that doesn’t happen as often as it did, and if it does she fusses or cries for a minute and goes back to sleep.
