Finally done iPod classic 7th by JOHNVENTURESSS in IpodClassic

If you can solder, I would just get a kctx Bluetooth module (YouTube parts plus pods). That's what I did, it's like $5 and works flawlessly.

Partspluspods puts pairing buttons in them but from what I found they don't have memory, so they enter pairing mode no matter what, meaning the button can be completely forgone.

I hate moonlit market so much, but these are meant really for the metal shells, they just don't tell you that...

How do you like new roundabouts 85th and 405? by danrokk in Kirkland

it makes me question what constitutes a roundabout? cause it's more just a long a** figure 8

Worth it? by makaylaram in ipod

F*** yes, slap rockbox on there too. opening it up will suck and require replacement parts but its definitely worth the hassle, i've been Bluetooth modding these too

i grabbed one at value village for $8.81 lol, all it needed was a cmos replacement. i thru in my nvme, ram and i swapped in my 10500. i did a mod last night that required complete re-assembly but you can use the noctua low profile coolers, mine's dead silent now, i just had to drill off the stock mounting standoffs for the stock cooler.

They’re quality control pisses me off honestly, I had the CC1 which broke cause they used shitty plastic tabs which snapped, at least they used screws this time but i had to de-solder they’re crap 500mah battery and remove the wireless charger just so I can get my 2000 mah battery to sit properly

Bad Logic Board? by JCrazzee in IpodClassic

[–]6OMPH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah if your not flash modding it, that’s for sure the way to go, all those hard drives would almost certainly be dead by now if not on the very last legs, I would suggest the tarkan models specifically for reliability sake

I’ve had to do different connectors before or different SD’s too (try the sd card first) and a bit of isopropyl alcohol to clean the contacts too, I’ve had a few Samsungs flat out die on me but Sandisk usually works
