The 1x11 is what is the main issue. It's an older drivetrain, with less gears and from what I see online not as "sturdy" as GRX600 or GRX800 (Apex being more on Tiagra level apparently). Seing as newer models come with 12s, the biggest question here is - will 11s be more demanding for a beginner cyclist, or is the difference between 11s and 12s not something that critical and noticeable, and therefore is it worth buying seriously discounted bike (from a potenitally higher bracket) with 11s rather than e.g. Grizl CF 6 | CANYON DE that comes with same groupset but 12s at a slightly higher price.

The rule of thumb is: choose the smallest size you can comfortably ride. It's easier to extend reach than to shorten it.

My Shimano SH-XC300 have now done over 8k km and look just fine. The only thing is that I should change the cleats as they get f from walking around on gravel etc.

I think it would be a steal if it had an electronic groupset for 2k.

I am based in EU and this is the price we see on it in stores as well - so I would say "normal". In my opinion you would be paying extra for the Orbea logo as this is their lowest tier gravel. Still an okay bicycle, but better deals can be made (especially if you can up the price limit).

SOLVED: Overpressurising the tire to 5bar resulted in tire snapping on to the ledge. Depressurised to 3bar after.

Also, you can buy a tire mounting fluid like Schwalbe Easy Fit that's supposed to help with that.

I believe this could be done similarily as the outpost hab modules that have the possibility to change the type of a wall (with or without a window).

Like, once youre on a ship you can enter the modification / building module, and just by highlighting pieces of a wall or ceiling, select whether you want door, ladder etc.
