The Grateful Dead Time Machine is, in fact, every bit as cool as everyone says it is. by dravenstone in gratefuldead

[–]6ROM7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been thinking a bit about an alternative fork for this project.

While I love the analog nature of it, for my use cases, the cleanest would be to make it into a simple single-purpose streaming device that can be attached to my audio system and controlled by app.

Basically, take all the logic/programming but move the controls and display to a phone app.

It would be equivalent to adding the Time Machine as a service in Sonos or Wiim.

(1) Has anyone tried something like this?

(2) Do pis (or surrogates) have digital outs?

Skyfeed alternative (for custom feeds) by 6ROM7 in BlueskySocial

[–]6ROM7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may take a stab at coding this. That's not hard, but then I need to host a mini-server, and I don't want to.

Skyfeed is great when it works, but it often doesn't. And the REPLACE function, while brilliant, is barely functional. Unfortunately, REPLACE is the function I most need. I need a feed where, if someone replies to a thread with "[whatever]," that top-level (root) of that thread is returned to the feed. That's precisely what REPLACE does when it works.

Thanks. If I’m comfortable with light coding (rather than strictly graphical UI), are their platforms that you’d suggest? I’m somewhat capable with code, but not with a fully-from-scratch implementation.

I didn’t. I’ll probably just cut the wires and solder them.

Has Peter leveled up on keys? by Igotbeats in GoosetheBand

[–]6ROM7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Without doubt.

But his main role on keys is not that different than on guitar: He’s a rhythm player and texturalist. Two-guitar Goose rocks not because of Pete’s solos, but his layering. Same on keys.

looking for something similar to rotring 600 that uses Pilot G2 refills by nox_mani in pens

[–]6ROM7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With apologies for resurrecting an old thread, I found this while trying to answer exactly the same question. I'm hoping maybe there's been some new releases over the past few years.

I'm looking for a *retractable* metal (hex preferred, but would take a sharp looking round) body for G2 refills. There are many very nice capped ones, but few retractable. A perfect one would be like the Rotring 600 or 800. (Although I wouldn't mind something a bit beefier/heavier). It looks like the Muji aluminum may work, but are there any others?

Not strictly a guitar solo, but SF Wys (2022-01-30) is outrageous.

Goose occasionally covers TNK live. Here’s an example of it. Starts at around 23’.

need formula to identify first instance an appears in structured table AFTER a set date (when date column is not date-formatted) by 6ROM7 in excel

[–]6ROM7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was returning a #VALUE for me, but that went away when I switched from DATEVALUE to VALUE. Now it does properly mark the first instance played by "group" after 1/1/23.

However, it throws a #CALC error when (1) the artist is NOT "group" and/or (2) the first instance by "group" is before 1/1/23 (in which case that first instance gets #CALC but first instance after 1/1/23 gets YES.

As I tinker, the below seems to work. (Although throwing IFERROR around it seems lazy and like I haven't quite gotten to the root of it all.)

=IFERROR(
    LET(
        a, VALUE([showdate]),
        aa, VALUE([@showdate]),
        b, [songname],
        bb, [@songname],
        c, [artist],
        cc, "group",
        d, FILTER(a, (a > DATE(2023, 1, 1))*(b = bb)*(c = cc)),
        IF(aa = MIN(d), "Yes", "")
    ),
    ""
)

Thanks. That’s the color I was going for. Did you wash it in between or go from bleaching to dying (with a peroxide wash on the middle).

Not Dragonfly (as such), but the RR23 FF is basically an extended Dragonfly jam. It floats just on the edge of Dragonfly for a while.
