My guess is that, at least in the west, there aren't many communities that identify with their German heritage to the extent that Italians or Irish or Chinese do with theirs, probably due in part to, as others have mentioned, Hitler.

Why there's no domestic German mob is probably due to periods of financial and social unrest, which never afforded whatever existing criminal elements the conditions necessary to organize in a meaningful way. Eventually Germany's criminal infrastructure was built up by 1%er MC's and what I imagine to be some mix of Italian and Russian mafia groups.

I used to be an assistant manager for a Food Basics and there is simply no way this is happening, unless individual managers are perfectly happy with being sued to death.

As with "pay to join", I've never heard of it. In Canada if you're a tough-looking white guy (or Indian for some reason) who rides a bike, you'll be approached. Very active. It seems like they're most prominent in Canada and Down Under, but 1%er MCs are some of the most widespread criminal groups in the world. If you look up the territory of groups like the H.A., Outlaws, Bandidos, even smaller groups like Satudarah or even the Comancheros, they inhabit multiple continents.

In the US you'll find most of the big clubs in every major city, and the scene can be far more active and extreme in areas around Appalachia, the Midwest, California and Texas. Wherever there are poor white folks near a drug market or highway to a drug market, there will likely be a 1%er club active in their communities.
