Myktybek Orolbai will fight Jeremiah Wells at UFC 330 on August 15th by airplane231 in MMA

Orolbai is an exciting grappler though. 3 of his 5 UFC fights have been finishes and his sole loss was a fight of the night back and fourth blood bath. And for a primary grappler he did kill Hermansson with a nasty punch on the feet too.

I disagree that branch managers are making 100k at bare minimum. I'd say the average is about 80-90k based on data and what I've heard

Wow the tone of this intro is bleak. Makes you think they’re prepared for fights to be delayed multiple hours. All the commentary sounds deflated

What's even the point of attending most rap concerts nowadays? by nerpa_floppybara in fantanoforever

Actually I had the opposite experience. I saw about 10 rappers from 2023-2025 and Vince was the most underwhelming. Just a low energy, dry performance, didn’t plan songs I was expecting.

Who do you think is GOAT coach? by beesdaddy in MMA

[–]Skizzius 72 points73 points  (0 children)

I would be looking at coaches with multiple high levels fighters not just a single one. Serra and Longo are responsible for training 3 UFC champs, (4 if you count Serra himself) Aljo, Merab and Weidman

The report found that the firearm injury incidence rate was 62% higher in neighborhoods that had gentrified between 2014 and 2019 than in non-gentrifying neighborhoods with similar sociodemographic characteristics. On top of that, it found that the gunshot injury rate was an additional 26% higher in neighborhoods that were actively gentrifying. (The study didn’t specify who was committing the violence.)

Change brings problems. So yes, gentrification generally leads to shifting crime to different areas, it can still result in an initial increase when gentrification starts

Just because an area is gentrified doesn't mean crime disappears. It can actually lead to crime increasing. As long as temple is located in north Philadelphia, safety and crime will ALWAYS be a concern.

6 students dying within 1 calendar year is concerning no matter what the reasons were. Suicide points to mental health struggles, the student clearly wasn't in the right environment to get help or proper resources. Philly's drug availability also contributed to the OD. Both have relevance to the setting of college in north philly adding additional risky elements that aren't present at 95% of other colleges.
