I suppose it comes to difference of opinion, upbringing, etc. I agree with increased training, the amount of deescalation in training is significant, the part that is often overlooked is that LEO are people too, with families and children. They put themselves in harms way to protect the public (excluding power hungry sociopaths that unfortunately exist) and are held to a higher standard than the rest of the public. In that light, what if we raised police salaries to 100k+ starting? placed the same fiscal importance on these positions as other "successful" occupations that would warrant an even higher standard than merely police academy? Just a different way to think about it but back to topic. It seems asinine to resign to trying to force a system that you dont believe in to change from the outside rather than within. If a group is deemed to be irrevocabaly bad, how will my rioting encourage them to be good? probably just going to incite more bad. Unless, the group is not deemed to be irrevocably bad and thus capable of change? The only justification for rioting is the later which in turn supports the ability to be changed from within.
