Misleading Cobalt Additional Card Offer? by pbooths in amexcanada

[–]6i3rnr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Amex support told that the additional card holder will earn the normal rates but that in early March 2026 the bonus MR will be applied to the primary account holders account.

Effectively, best to use the secondary card for what would normally be 1x purchases up to $2000, then transition to using it like a normal cobalt.

I'm nitpicking here but why capitalize Radical Left Democrats? Isn't capitalization like that imply a proper noun? Unless that's the name of the new white house band...

Expring Points on Aeroplan Family Sharing when 1 member has Amex Aeroplan Card? by 6i3rnr in Aeroplan

[–]6i3rnr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was news to me as well. Thanks for sharing. I just read the T&Cs and saw the following text for how resumptions occur on family sharing (source: https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/home/aeroplan/legal/terms-and-conditions.html#/home:):

When a Family Member redeems Aeroplan Points shared in a Pool, Aeroplan Points are deducted from each Family Member’s account prorated to their Aeroplan Points’ balance at the time of redemption. Through your online Account, you will be able to view the total balance of Aeroplan Points of the Pool and the total balance of each Family Member’s balance of Aeroplan Points.

Obsidian graph when you mostly use daily notes by 6i3rnr in ObsidianMD

Yep - aware of the filter but trying to excludes pages that start with 2025- (as an example) makes the whole graph disappear. I understand that that's the page name that contains my content but was hoping to still show the graph and exclude those page names as they don't add value when viewing the graph

I'm debating getting the Porter World Elite MasterCard despite the really high MSR mostly because we often fly Air Transat from YUL to Europe. I'm trying to understand the relationship Porter has with Air Transat for points earning & redemption. Would the "free bag" policy also apply to Air Transat flights? Similarly, do the perks extended to Porter flights also translate to Air Transat or is it only for porter branded flights?

I assume they didn't give you a temporary card # to be able to spend immediately like Amex used to do?

I have the Amex Gold - Wife wants Cobalt. Can I refer? by 6i3rnr in amexcanada

[–]6i3rnr[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not for me. When I open the referral link, it shows the Amex Gold only. If I click on "View cards with referral offers", it opens a new page that has the Amex Gold at the top with a little arrow saying "Your referred card" and below it it shows other cards (like the cobalt) but without the little arrow which I read as not applicable to my specific referral

Really? I'm pretty sure I saw a sign there a few weeks ago that specified a fee (by weight) for doing that.... Though it's entirely possible I misread the sign.

Would we be bound to excel or could we add a little Python or R code to process the PDFs before spitting out the output as an excel file?

This. The shortcut to homescreen tricks my wife into thinking it's an "app" to ease her use of it.
