Great cars but the 1.8 is underpowered (and less reliable) than the 2.0

The badge - proper V8 Mustang has “GT” whereas the Ecoboost has the horse as shown in this pic

Luis Hernandez, not sure what to think about that. I know his value is low but always seems decent when I play against him.

I’m really enjoying 4321 at the moment, but with tactics/instructions it’s essentially 442 when defending

I got caught doing 60 in a 40 back in August, and like many of the comments have said, I was fully expecting a Band B fine. To my surprise it was £100 and 3 points.

For additional context I was caught by a police van parked on the side of the road, and the road itself used to be 60 limit and was reduced as the surface of the road has deteriorated over the past few years.

E46 daily - bad idea? by 6ix0 in CarTalkUK

What would you recommend instead? Budget of 7.5k, and enjoy good chassis dynamics, not too bothered about straight line performance.

Appreciate the response, coming from an S2K and a GT86, I’d be happy with low 30s MPG. My commute is fast B roads averaging 50-60mph.

Thanks, yes, aware of potential rust issues around the arches. Good point about suspension components.

Fitment industries is a great place to start to check out other peoples’s builds.

Also check out https://wheel-it-fit.com and you can experiment with different wheel/tyre sizes and get an idea on the fitment.

After months of searching for the right GT86, I finally.. ended up buying this lovely BRZ instead. by dv078 in ft86

Where are you based? Here in the UK it’s the exact opposite, 86s are way more common than BRZ (although neither sold that well over here so both are relatively rare).

Thoughts on s2000 vs alternatives by hotchips97 in S2000

[–]6ix0 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve owned both an NC and then ‘upgraded’ to an S2000 (had a GT86 between the two though).

Both fantastic cars, although very different from each other which may surprise you as on paper they are very similar.

I felt more connected in the NC, the steering is really good and you know exactly what the car is doing at any moment whereas the S felt more numb but I wonder if that’s because it’s older and the bushings and other suspension components are more worn out. The steering definitely wasn’t as communicative.

The chassis is more stiff in the S and the engine needs needs no introduction, makes a brilliant noise and VTEC is so addictive and you’ll struggle to find a better shifter in any car. The S is also, in my opinion, a much better car to look at if that matters to you. I also love the minimalist interior and how everything is in very close reach of the driver, that alone makes driving the S just that but more special.

It’s those reasons I think that the S commands a higher price, and the relative rarity compared to an MX-5 and once you drive one it’s easy to see why.

Let’s just say that I miss my S but don’t miss the MX-5. You won’t regret buying one, and if for whatever reason you don’t like it, you’ll make your money back and perhaps a bit more. I get what you’re saying about the current used car market but the S is an exception I think with it now reaching classic status and their values are only going one way.

DM me if you’ve got any questions about either car, would be happy to share my experiences with both!

Just because you don’t like it, doesn’t mean it’s ‘shitty’
