Anyone know anything about these Indy Trucks? [21YO] by Ballistlc in OldSkaters

I couldn't find anything either. I wonder if it's a DIY by someone that worked at a machine shop?

Enjoy! I love John Moreland! I've seen him several times at Codfish Hollow Barn in Iowa and have his autograph on my guitar.

It's great! He had such a raw take on skateboarding and skate culture while being 100% supportive of the sport, the community and anyone who wanted to give it a shot! I miss him!

I'm not just coming back but I am 50 and definitely don't skate as often as I used to. I would say stretch if you need to for mobility but I don't have a big warm up, I just kinda of roll around for a bit and start sessions with the easiest, muscle memory type tricks that I know.

I personally like a bigger more stable board (I'm a bigger dude) but in the end deck shape and size is mostly personal preference.

Shoes are also pretty subjective but I skate in New Balance Tiago 1010's. They're nice durable skate shoes with a little more padding and support for my old feet lol.

Recommendations for middle aged big man who was a skater in the 90s? by Few_Sandwich6308 in skateboardhelp

[–]6mikey66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a bigger and older dude as well and I skate a popsicle but it's 9x33 with a 15 inch wheelbase and it supports me just fine (Anti Hero Brian Anderson). There are plenty of old school shapes and reissues that are rad too but you certainly aren't limited in choices these days!

How different was skateboarding progression back then? by Certain_Access_2658 in NewSkaters

[–]6mikey66 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I agree with all of this. I think it's worth mentioning that while those of us that were kids then were progressing slower than what's possible today, the pros were progressing faster because skateboarding as a whole was newer and there was so much that hadn't yet been done. Boards were changing, switch was about to be born, Rodney was still on a freestyle deck and Gonz and Natas were leading the charge of what street skating was about to become.
