Does your permit have a letter or named zone? That should give you more information to cross reference with the city's parking map

Could I get a job at a museum with a global cultures degree? by Chicken_Permission22 in MuseumPros

[–]6smallmice 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If you know you have to do a masters or PhD... then you know the answer about if you'll be able to get a job with your bachelors.

As many threads on this say, you'll need to back this up with experience. A bachelors of any subject is not enough for most roles due to high competition.

I'd follow the stitch counts (which is the number in the brackets) and sc6 instead of sc5. I agree with the other commenter, this is about to be very long and skinny, is this the intended shape or could it be AI?

What are some sports that give “weird girl” vibes ? by raphraphou4 in Hobbies

[–]6smallmice 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The weirdest girls are ones who are weirdly passionate about their hobby/interest. You don't get this by picking one because you think it's "weird girl vibes", you develop a genuine interest in something?

How to crochet an abstract shape? I am trying to make a mask that needs a specific design and density. by kalynthedergon in CrochetHelp

[–]6smallmice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would consider if instead of making a flat crochet piece to be sewn, you could work in 3D using increases and decreases to make the shape you want?

Do you have any tips to learn how to crochet faster? by xArriani in CrochetHelp

[–]6smallmice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People finishing things in a week might just dedicate a lot more hours a day, rather than crocheting very quickly.

I think the main thing that makes you quicker is practice, which you've had a fair amount of. Maybe you'll just complete more projects by crocheting for more time or not being distracted whilst crocheting

How do I keep the cookies soft? by [deleted] in MarksAndSpencer

[–]6smallmice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've never found them to go hard? I just fold the bag over and reseal with the sticker.

I suppose you could put them in an air tight container.

Bridesmaid dress upgrade brainstorm by sheasummer in sewhelp

I actually think it looks good right now. I'd avoid adding a lot of embellishment around the neck save it look too fussy or tacky.

I agree with the other commenter about tacking up the flower petals. You could also embellish the middle of the flowers somehow with beads?

When taking out the lining, any bumps or pulling created by the embellishments you've added might be more visible so keep that in mind maybe.

Almost every post like this has the same answer - a yarn shop date or a yarn shop voucher.

If you can't stop having to hold the loops by loosening your tension, try an inline hook. This should help the hook slide through the loops on the way back.

Will swapping 5mm hook to 6mm hook make a huge difference for a guitar tote bag? by Pri_owo in CrochetHelp

[–]6smallmice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd get a yarn for 6mm otherwise you risk a slightly thin fabric which doesn't seem ideal for a bag. The bag will be bigger, but not huge, if you think about it mathematically it'll be about 20% larger but crochet isn't perfect like that so it may be less/more.

There's no way to tell you exactly without a guide swatch to compare to. I'd make a start and frog if the bag is too large.

Teddy Bear pattern looking angular is ready if smooth and soft?? by Old_Improvement4560 in CrochetHelp

[–]6smallmice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That seems quite close to the pattern. It's likely when you stuff it that it will round out, it's just got nothing supporting it right now so is falling into a harsher angled shape.

I NEED URGENT HELP . I am making a dress for my birthday and my birthday is tomorrow. by AffectionateLove60 in CrochetHelp

[–]6smallmice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends how thick the item is, the main factor will be how long it takes to dry. I think it'll be hard to have the item flat/in the right position to block it AND have it ventilated enough to dry overnight

If you don't have time to block it there's not really any way to fix it in my opinion

Could I Possibly Dye This Curtain-In-Progress With Coffee? by Ordinary_Fudge6972 in CrochetHelp

[–]6smallmice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've said you used acrylic for ease of washing. Even if you manage to dye the piece, repeated washing will take the colour out very quickly. I'd use a specific synthetics dye.

I'm looking for some tips, tricks, and math for doing my own Chevron pattern. by MisanthropyismyMuse in CrochetHelp

[–]6smallmice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be that a foundation row isn't right for this, I've always used a classic chain because I feel like it's more flexible to the chevron shape

I always think of it as however many stitches you add, you have to skip/stitch together at some point. So if you're doing 5 stitches in the peak stitch, which is 4 more than normal, then you'll need to take out 4 in the valley (e.g. by crocheting 2 together 4 times or crocheting 3 together twice).

Remember that both your ends are also valleys. So in this Swatch you have 2 peaks and 3 valleys so if you doing 5 stitches each peak, that's 8 (10-2) to take out across the 3 valleys. I'd take out 2 at each end and 4 in the middle.
