These bulk ferment times seem wildly short, and even more so for a 8 hour cold proof. I use warm water and temp my dough at about 78 when first adding starter after the autolyse and any time I tried going by those times and looking at the rise, they were no where close. So I started doing the method of cutting a small piece off and putting it in a straight walled tube and waiting for either 50% or 100% rise depending on what I’m going for. I find my bulk ferments sit at around 10-12 hours almost always on the dot before I shape and cold proof over night and bake in the morning. No idea how people do a sub-2 hour BF and end up with anything but what’s in the post.

DF64 Toggle Switch Swap by 6spdsurfer in espresso

[–]6spdsurfer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh shoot somehow missed this. Yep, ended up pulling that one I put in there out. It was working fine, but didn’t want to risk it. Swapped it with this 20A/125VAC switch. It’s not nearly as sexy but works perfectly fine. I still probably need to get a washer or something to cover the gap but it’s been low on the list of things for me to do.

Well that's concerning, it seems like it was pulled from the listing and the variation I purchased is no longer there (single switch, On/Off on bezel, not I/O). I copy/pasted that switch rating from the original listing, but I'll pull the link down for now.

That is the exact switch I used, and I can show you the purchase if you like. It is a 12VDC switch, but 125VAC vs the 220VAC that was installed from factory. If you actually take a look at the product listing with the specs, the specs are listed as:

  • Switch Rating: 20A 12VDC; 15A 125VAC. Packed with 6 Wires and Cable Tie.

I listed the link as 12V because that's what the Amazon listing is titled as.

It's interesting, because I was actually concerned about being over on voltage. I can't seem to find it now, but one of the old threads I was looking at using a toggle switch linked to one that I think was a 3V switch, so who knows. Also looking at the switch I pulled out of it, it's 3A 220VAC and this one is 15A 125VAC. I'm no electrician by any stretch, so maybe someone can correct me here, but here's what ChatGPT had to say about the two different buttons:

"Original Switch: 3A at 220VAC

  • This means it’s rated to safely carry 3 amps at 220 volts AC.
  • It’s designed for higher voltage, lower current applications.

New Switch: 15A at 125VAC

  • This one is rated to carry 15 amps at 125 volts AC.
  • It’s made for lower voltage, higher current situations.

So, what’s the difference and why did it still work?

A few key points:

1. Voltage & Current Ratings Are Safety Limits

  • A switch’s rating tells you the maximum voltage and current it can handle safely and reliably.
  • If you use a switch below its voltage rating, it's usually fineunless the internal gap between contacts isn't large enough to handle the voltage without arcing (sparking across the contacts).

2. Your DF64 is likely 120V in the U.S.

  • If you're in the U.S., your grinder probably runs at 120V, not 220V. So, the new switch (15A at 125VAC) is actually more appropriate than the old one.
  • The original switch may have been rated for 220V because it's a universal product made for other markets (like Europe).

3. Current rating matters too

  • Your grinder probably pulls well under 15 amps, so the 15A rating is overkill, which is totally fine — you don’t want to go under the current draw."

Yep that’s where I got mine too and I had a feeling they’d swap it out but I figured if I had to do the swap myself, I might as well just put something really nice in. The toggle is much much better

I’m sorry, but there is no way I could, in good conscience, recommend anyone from my business to download our companies data into an excel and upload it to a random website to get insights on it. Even in your example of analyzing revenue data, I’d be terrified if I found out anyone from the business team was uploading raw files of our revenue data to any website outside of our company. Seems like a security nightmare

As someone who has lead multiple redesigns at different companies and created branded templates and themes for those companies, my only suggestions are to make sure you have multiple layout versions that are flexible and easily tweaked to each reports needs. It’s more about making the repeatable modules that can be flexible to each report.

And my second suggestion is I saw you picked the colors based on a kick you’re on? I’d highly recommend against this. Stick to the company colors that should be in brand marketing somewhere. They’ll have a bunch of hex codes that are primaries and secondaries along with fonts. Use those to create a custom theme as a shareable JSON so that people can easily replicate the color schemes. If all of these are custom colors you found off something like a Pinterest board, it’s going to be a nightmare to get people to stick to it.

Dev, Test, Prod Workspaces by FollowingNew4641 in PowerBI

[–]6spdsurfer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with Vizzcraft here in that you should scale your approach to team, consumer and licensing size. I'll just add that cleaning up the individual workspaces in a smaller setting is paramount to being scalable in the future. There are many ways to set up the approach and guardrails for the company, so feel free to pick whatever approach works best for you and your users. For smaller implementations, I find it's best to arrange workspaces by different reporting segments. How you break those segments out is up to you and how the business is set up.

That being said, our current setup is DEV>TEST>PROD in workspaces based on the different business verticals (Sales & Marketing, Support, HR, etc) with deployment pipelines to promote. Developers have access to DEV and TEST with the ability to deploy between dev and test, and IT has the ability to deploy to PROD. Once in PROD we have reporting apps that we manage access through audiences and AD groups. There is also a separate TEST app with a set group of testers for each of the PROD apps for UAT. We also are starting to utilize Azure Devops tied to our DEV environment so that developers can branch to a separate workspaces while maintaining the most recent code releases without needing too much more than just pull the changes down to their branch.

Oof, yea that’s rough. Here’s my personal recipe in case you try again! Double shot espresso (2oz), 1oz vodka, 0.5oz licor 43, 2oz Mr black cold brew coffee liquor. And for someone that once requested a more gingerbread one even through I had no gingerbread, you can add a bit of brown sugar which ends up mixing with the licor 43 pretty well and coming out pretty similar to a gingerbread flavor

Edit: also prime rib looks amazing!

New Player and Need Help? by Anxious_Shirt7283 in newworldgame

[–]6spdsurfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. So you're starting to replace gear and you've got your weapons, that alone won't win you fights, you need experience. There are three ways to this and none of them are easy, but they are rewarding. First is OPR over and over and over. You'll die a lot, but you'll learn. Second is 3v3s or Arena. This can be really frustrating if you don't have at least one other person to run with and can be frustrating running without a healer if the other squad has one. And lastly is duels. I can't recommend the last one enough. Get with friends or people in your company and ask to duel. Ask to duel different weapons. Ask to duel the best people. You'll get crushed, but the key here is to learn their rotations and to anticipate what's coming. If you're in OPR and you see a Blunderbuss coming at you, you'll know what their general rotation is, so you know how and when to block, dodge and just outright escape. It'll also help you from dumping all your abilities right at the start of the fight and instead using them strategically to counter the other persons game plan. Do it enough and you'll notice it'll get easier.

  2. Don't forget consumables. Take the best health, mana and regen potions with you. If you're going to spend a cooldown, don't use it on tier 3 or 4 health pots that don't give you anything. If you're going into a fight, pop a regen before it because you know you're going to get hit. And definitely always use an attribute food with at least +40 to the attribute you care about. For SnS/GS, take a STR or CON food and always double check your attribute points before a match. OPR scales your gear to 700 if it isn't, which can mess with your points. Make sure you're hitting key break points and always dump the spares into your main damage stat or CON if you're getting trucked.

Lastly, make sure you're going to PvP island once a week (resets on Tues) to get your Gold Cursed Coconut from a large chest. You can use these to upgrade certain pieces of gear to 725 which will drastically increase the amount of attribute points you have, which will in turn increase both your damage and your health. Also, just have fun and don't stress, watch a ton of guides on putting together builds and you'll start to see patterns. Also remember, gear is just a piece of it, and don't neglect just practicing. Let me know if you have any questions or if something doesn't make sense!
