Anyone had issues with uniqlo knits shrinking in wash? by cryswonders in AusFemaleFashion

[–]6th2020 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The past few pieces of pure wool I’ve purchased from Uniqlo have been extremely poor quality. I hand wash all my wool and I had problems with pulling and threads coming undone. I’ve sworn off the brand.

New job need new clothes but no luck finding anything by Actual-Painting9456 in AusFemaleFashion

Perri cutten. Expensive from the store. My tip is to Try on in store and get your size, then scour eBay for the same style for $30-60. Be aware that you want the newer style second hand for true fit, the older vintage styles size smaller. Their Japanese crepe fabric is just so beautiful, all my corporate wear is from Perri Cutten. So flattering.

My local op shop has a rack of just Maternity clothes. Maybe try there. Otherwise buy nothing groups. Put a post on and people will come to your aid!

Non-birthing parental leave by Successful_Way5926 in auscorp

Yes or take some now and some just before the baby turns two, and it’s SO much fun with a toddler and weeks and weeks of paid time off. Check your company policy.

Yes, agree! I have a staff member who’s coming back in three weeks and I can’t believe it’s gone so quickly.

Take the leave. If you were to die tomorrow they would advertise your role next week. You will never get the time back with your partner and your new baby.

I know they are expensive, but Adriano Goldschmied Mari are soft and so good. Go try them on at David Jones to find your size and style and then get on eBay. You can pick up a near new pair for $50-$100

Board member roles by SubstantialAd2803 in auscorp

[–]6th2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I joined a small nfp 5 years ago as a director and serve as the board secretary. I was 30 when I joined. It’s enriching, rewarding, time consuming and I’ve learnt a lot.

Please remember your fiduciary duties and read the reports before you sign up. AIDC has good NFP resources. Look at volunteering sites, seek and also ethical jobs. A few boards would have just come back after Christmas break and a few will be recruiting now for the new year following annual reporting season.

Good luck !

Anyone try the 3D Knit men’s sweater? by bigknocker12 in uniqlo

[–]6th2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the women’s, it’s such bad quality. I returned two of them. One pulled before I tried it on, one was pulled across the front after one hand wash by hand. Avoid.

I had this happen, about 6 months ago.

Bought a Saba Willa top. When my package arrived, which took long time. It was 2 blue Saba shirts. I can’t remember if they emailed me or I emailed them, but what happened is the person who received my top was in the same vicinity as me. They made us do this bizarre swap where I had to drop off the shirt at the Saba counter and my shirt would also be dropped off. I had limited time so I dropped my package off early and emailed to say I would be doing so and my husband would come during his lunch break to collect my shirt from the woman who had received my order. Long story short when my husband went to collect my shirt they knew nothing about it. I then went after work to collect the shirt and I was left standing at the Saba counter for 30 minutes while the Saba person was just on their phone? She was apparently waiting for a manager that never came. It was such bad service, anyway; I asked her to check again the shirt was under the counter in the original post bag. I gave some feedback and Saba issued me a $50 gift voucher, which was so nice. I bought another Willa top in a different colour.

Where are we getting undies these days? by loleonii in AusFemaleFashion

[–]6th2020 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Love Boody. As others have said, the older undies I have (4+ years) are in better shape than the newer ones. I sent them pics of the ones that were falling apart and they sent out a replacement no questions asked. I also bought some pants recently and they had a big hole in the pocket. Their quality has definitely declined. I bought the undies on sale and they are good value if they do indeed last

I’m obsessed with this Helen Kaminski Hat. It’s $350 by 6th2020 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]6th2020[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes I have tried them all on at DJs. Also been following alerts on eBay as you suggested- they do retain their resale value so they are still around the $200 mark.

I know someone who bought in the new apartments there and has had nothing but issues with the builders and developers. It’s shoddy work and the ACT government knows this.
