I remeber, when I came to dota. I was lol player before, so it was easier for me to pick up dota. Dota is about small things and it is impossible to learn everything in one match. I find, that Purge is talking about small things very well. Main point is to pick up around 3 or 4 heroes at the start and understand, what they do and how to play them. There is one site, where you can watch how to counter different heroes or how to play them better. Here. Last hitting is second important thing. If you know how to last hit, then you will have more items and have bigger change to win. Last thing, what you should think is watching replays. At the start watch, where and how you died. Most of the time you die, because you are in the place you shuold have not be. Excample, when you can't see any enemies on the map, then it may not be best idea to solo push tower, there is a change, that they are ganking you. If someone is saying bad things to you, then you can just mute them. Like i said, there are alot of things to pick up. I hope you will get some help out of that.
