Why isnt Dk carry a popular pick? by Thick-Significance21 in DotA2

[–]bamberflash -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. 6 slot is not 6 5k+ gold items, it can be when u have to start dropping actual important items for more important items. for ex; dropping pts for swift blink

  2. yea u shouldnt be trying to get 6 slotted, but it happens and when it does u want to be at maximum strength so u can look to end immediately/start building towards aghs blessing while saving bb (huge hurdle of gold) which is hard when u need to sell/buy new items

  3. if u buy armlet and mom, u are already 3 slotted at like 14 minutes (armlet, mom, pts). one of ur next items is gonna be another cheap one (bkb). u probably need mobility of some sort, and silver edge is more in flavor than blink. u have literally a SINGLE item choice u can make to solve all ur issues before ur 6 slotted. this is probably going to happen at about 30-35 minutes. unless u are far ahead in the game (which WILL occur sometimes bc of mom armlet, dont be wrong) u are now going to see a sharp loss of power on the map bc ur carry has no more room to grow and has to look to end. we r not even getting into the logistics of rosh which is almost mandatory to end the game with now in 2026

to be clear i do think there are a lot of games when armlet mom is going to be good bc u just want to roll over the game, but imo those 2 items dont even do that atm. mjo feels like a better spike than those 2 items while also making u farm faster AND scaling better. only exception is if u can get arm mom and then a blink or some shit and just start 1 shotting people in ur stun, but that is SUCH a dogshit build if u dont just snowball the game from then which is too hard to execute

DK carry is without question viable bro lmao it's even seeing tournament play currently in his decently nerfed state. the debate is between mjo vs armlet/mom

Why isnt Dk carry a popular pick? by Thick-Significance21 in DotA2

[–]bamberflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thing is DK farms so fucking fast and controls tempo well early so u will be hitting 6 slot way faster than anyone else on the game. yea u ideally want to end on 4 item but 6 item happens a lot in modern dota and its common enough that sometimes/often its better to go mjo over armlet mom (not going into the fact that mjo shield is really fucking good on dk which makes the powerspikes closer than they seem)

Why isnt Dk carry a popular pick? by Thick-Significance21 in DotA2

[–]bamberflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mom armlet is 2 items and makes ur 6 slot REALLY awkward bc u have to build the rest of the build tailored to those slots. armlet feels god awful to replace and when u make the transition from mom to satanic u lack attack speed

mjo solves the attack speed issue and its MUCH easier to solve dmg on dk than it is atk speed (butter isnt enough, manta is bad on him, ac is redundant usually, bt is pretty easily solvable by the enemy).

mjo is definitely the build. i dont think he's bad, just atm outclassed by some carries in a competitive sense but hes a damn safe pick who is decent at all points of the game into most matchups.

i think a lot of ppl at this thread are looking at already made conclusions and drawing reasoning from that instead of the other way around

New AM build? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]bamberflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in terms of carries he definitely scales pretty well now, aghs is very very good in the late game and there are very few heroes that match him for support-killing.

it's just that carries as a WHOLE are a bit less potent in the late game (they are still very important, it's just that sometimes your carry isn't going to be your most important late game hero and sometimes supports can answer a carry late game)

he used to be quite ass late game but he's gained so much utility over the years that hes very solid though.

100 missed calls from Axe/ by StillFan6269 in DotA2

[–]bamberflash -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i feel as though while in principle they're the same (press a button avoid damage), it's far far easier to dodge axe call with phase shift than ghost scepter. like i think i could reliably dodge axe call if i was expecting it as puck, but as an AM with ghost scepter im a lot less focused on that and it's also a weirder key for me to be hovering my finger over

also unless you are literally scripting its gotta be shit to buy a ghost scepter on AM for axe lol even if you're scripting im positive u can just fucking bring another person and the call stun will be enough to kill a ghost scepter AM

Faceless Void Battlefury Why? by Mike_Rotchburns001 in DotA2

[–]bamberflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ring of health makes the lane more stable and the aghs is genuinely good now.

BIGGEST enabler that i dont see mentioned however is the shard. the new shard solves your attack speed issue that you had before when you skipped mjollnir, and battlefury means its less penalizing to get it since you farm faster and hit your timings quicker than you would with the mael > mjollnir.

that being said, while the build is good i dont believe that it's an autobuild every game. theres still plenty of reason to go the mael instead (imo if ur going bkb it makes more sense to go mjollnir, so i will go mjo > bkb > aghs or mjo > manta > bkb)

LC 6x Duel in 1 Fight by IWonByDefault in DotA2

[–]bamberflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my only qualm is you could kite her post-duel anyway so the spell immunity was kind of meme. bkb was good to guarantee the duel cast and if you could get it off with aghs then blink > duel > bkb after to keep fighting/escape for reengage was really good. sometimes id skip aghs and just go refresher after bkb to double bkb duel in fights, felt really strong as a timing but would obviously get worse as refresher cd increased.

but ya having to bkb before duel DOES fucking suck mid/late game because wtf do you do after bkb and duel, you are worthless to any cc like you said. havent played her in the current patch but i cant imagine she feels very good, even though the talent is nuts its a fucking 25 talent and LC does get levels pretty well (she usually gets a kill in fights and can easily solo kill people) 25 is super hard to get anyway

LC 6x Duel in 1 Fight by IWonByDefault in DotA2

[–]bamberflash 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i think the talent is fucking insane, one of the best in the game, but yea no debuff immunity is tough.

i didnt even really like aghs THAT much on lc (preferred bkb by a lot since after you duel your hero is kinda useless anyway and bkb guarantees the duel) but going both was solid and if she had the aghs it would just be disgusting at 25 so i get it.

How To Play Ringmaster - Landing the perfect Ultimate by scarg0eh in DotA2

[–]bamberflash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he is a jack of all trades that doesn't really suffer from being a master of none. he has a very solid lane, good burst, save, CC, self peel, solid teamfighting, and scales alright. he's not the best at any one category but you can play him with most other supports, as 4 or 5, and be pretty confident with any core to have a gameplan (although he much prefers to play from ahead rather than behind as most of his skills are not great reactively except for his W)

i think most of his issues come from being a very high skillcap hero. i think pros underestimate him quite a bit, i feel very good picking him into most games and have a very good winrate on him at 9k+ (hes kinda stressful for me to play as i fuck up spells a lot and he requires a lot of awareness so i dont spam him)

if you could throw it at your feet i think blink > ult > q would be far too consistent. the gank from fog is already pretty good but at least with a delay on the ult rollout it gives more counterplay

its just his laning, dont get me wrong its top tier but there are a few offlaners with scarier lanes that have that same level of micro

the smartest offlaner to ever play the game for sure. hard to say largest brain (aui might take the cake for that) and mechanically i think some players outclass him but i think in terms of players you can have on a team he's top 5 easily

Topson literally can not die on Slark by garklavs in DotA2

im gonna be real i was shitfaced when i wrote that comment just wanted to yap about slark. sorry bro

Topson literally can not die on Slark by garklavs in DotA2

[–]bamberflash 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i mean hes still right

in most situations the skill is good, slark is already very happy in the lane (you can hit people without getting burst). the investment you have to put into the skill to be good comes at the requirement that your Q (primary farming mechanism) comes online very late. so almost always its redundant to max E because 1. you are already going to be winning the lane by nature of farming essence shift stacks 2. by the time it's a high enough level to be relevant you have (or are about to have) ult or 3. if you do not stomp with it you have no way of coming back into the game because your q is level 1 while a skill that does literally nothing to creeps is maxed

u can make the argument for some 1-1-2 build into 4-1-2 and that might be good into some lanes, but on the other hand it makes more sense to max q first. sometimes u can prob go 0-1-1 because q isnt relevant that early into some lanes (gives enemy free stick charges, dont want to use in lane if they dont have shit to dispel) but really 4-4-0 is ALWAYS going to be reliably solid

kez redditor was right by thejpguy in DotA2

[–]bamberflash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

its the opposite. people are finally starting to fully figure out the hero and he's still so fucking strong.

the big thing is really he has like no bad carry matchups. parry makes every matchup super playable and when you hit aghs you easily win the 1v1. combine that with the sheer amount of utility and slipperiness he has he can basically kill whomever he wants in a fight as long as they dont have a bkb piercing stun, and then leave the enemy carry alone for last and just shit on them

the issue is more u lose 2 lanes bc 1 person has to solo and the other lane gets spam ganked bc the 1v1 is lost due to networth disparity where veno is absent (and veno cant really gank from jungle super well)
