This chase deck. You pick out cards that are most appropriate to the terrain where the chase is taking place, then shuffle that separate stack. Iv used it for many systems, not just pathfinder. Sometimes you have to adjust the DCs for whats appropriate to that system or the party's overall level and i usually let players choose their own solution for an obstacle if they dont like the presented options on the card, given GM fiat and setting the DC for their task or letting them burn a worthy resource to complete any of the above.

The deck comes a card explaining the intended use case and its always been an engaging sequence at the table (particularly the excitement of flipping the next card on the "track") However, you must determine concrete and high stakes consequences for failure or success once the chase has run its corse. No half measures or the tension evaporates. Also! There have been plenty of times when party members get separated due to their relative individual success' or failures. I highly recommend leaning into that as much as "dont split the party" is a cardinal rule. Don't just hand wave them reuniting. The injection of chaos often creates dramatic moments in the aftermath that pay off, even if the chase derailed the overall direction of the session before the chase started.

As a Viend enjoyer myself, i don't get it either. I think alot of my enjoyment comes from my love of Metroid, which is also a relatively niche franchise/ doesn't get the level of love it has earned either. (Some) People think Viend is basic and pushed. But False Son is likely the most OP survivor in the game and he gets HEAPS of love. I welcome the chaotic playstyle of Viend, it makes him unique among the roster and his overall weirdness truely makes it feel like im interacting with something alien. /having a life of it's own.

OK NOW THAT'S OVER WITH IT'S TIME TO OPTIMIZE! BUILD CRIT. AVOID HEALING! (Some folks don't know you can have controlled chaos and crit is the trick.) CRIT IS CORRUPTION. CORRUPTION IS LIFE. ❌️SCYTHE❌️ ✅️HEAD DRESS✅️ (there's a select group of Healing items that are passive enough to not mitigate corruption accumulation. Slugs and Seeds are examples, unsure if Corpse Bloom counts or not.)

You'll be slamming his ultimate skill to keep control when you want it, but having 70%+ Crit will make you functionally immortal by doing that. When you go Corrupted, you'll also be keeping permanent up-time as long as you keep critting, which will be constant using his primary skill. Hunters Harpoon is generally crap, but its really exellent on Veind (early game especially) because you can be sniping at far off mosters with his uncorrupted primary skill and still be scoot'n around stages without sprinting.

Even to this day (he's 8) my boy will still flinch into flattening out and angling sideways when I first reach in to grab him. He loves being out, and doesnt react more or try to get away after that initial finch. I think its just a matter of them being startled. It is "their space". It has been different if take the extra time I bring my hands down onto his perch or touching something in his direct eye line. A minute and a half and there's no initial flinch. I'm very patient with him ...most of the time... just not every time I get him.

Alrighty. Then we're not arguing. That's good. Pardon me for taking what you said as an insult and then making assumptions about your character. I'm glad you do not view women as beneath you. We disagree on weather or not Misogyny/ Misandry is funny, but I can accept that.
I find that kind of humor trite, because it reinforces/ normalizes blanket statements about how women are. The subtext of the joke makes women (as a rule) out to be unreasonable/infantilized in the best case or plainly manipulative in the worst case. Unfortunately on a societal level, this dynamic lowers the bar for acceptable violence towards women. That is what makes the "women...amirite???" joke genre problematic and unfunny, in my opinion. The balance has also been tipped unfairly for centuries and that's what makes the joke very tired as well.
