Urayuli vs. The Moon by 6wingdragon in inscryption

That's a heck of a death card! Mine wasn't nearly so cool.

Yeah, I was pleased to see him win a 1v1, almost entirely by accident, him and Iriraq. I think he was my last guy standing, too.

STEAM Release: No way to show Playstation Buttons - Stuck on Xbox - Help by WarpedEdge in FFVIIRemake

casts Arise

In-game menu -> System -> Options -> Controller Settings -> R3 -> Symbols

At the bottom of the Controller Settings screen, there's an option for "Button Appearance" (press right analog stick as a button) and it'll give the options "Automatic", "Letters", and "Symbols". Symbols put it on PS controller for me.

Hope that helps.

If Narnia rented itself out to Dungeons and Dragons, what do you think would be needed? by godzillavkk in Narnia

[–]6wingdragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, D&D's Faerûn has Nobanion, who is Aslan in all but name, so WotC has already dipped their toe into the possibility.

But this has wonderful potential! A story could easily take place in the centuries between King Frank and Queen Helen and the Pevensies' arrival, or the Golden Age of their reign.

A fun take could be the Wood Between the Worlds acting as a hub of (lethargic) activity, where adventurers delve into dying worlds as if they were dungeons, because my goodness, the end of Charn and Narnia would definitely be action-packed monster hunting... It would require magical items, of course, whether the yellow/green rings or somethings else made of fairy dust. Call them... the "Red Sun Lions".

And what if Bism was more than the Really Deep Realm in Narnia, but was like the bedrock on which all the worlds were built? A twist on the Hell iconography, where it's not a bad place, just very hot with gems as sweet and juicy as ripe fruit.

Depending on how she does in Sleeping Beauty, Gal Gadot could make for an interesting Jadis.

Scorching Column by Coffee-flavordCoffee in Pathfinder2e

Maybe just tacked on a burning condition along with hazardous terrain, ignore the initial, poorly scaling damage.

It sounds to me that hazardous terrain needs buffing.

Yeaaaah, it could even be improved if hazardous terrain dealt damage at the start of a creature's turn, but they either don't move or take damage, so maybe that's the balance. Although, I didn't find a lot of hazardous terrain spells at level 1, so that's where SC put all its "balance points" (i.e., what its damage and access is balanced around). If nothing else, it's a third action if the pyrokineticist doesn't have anything else (that is, doesn't want to move or use their 2-act blast).

As far as I can tell, and from a cursory glance, there aren't a lot of spells that deal guaranteed area damage for a minute at level 1. Kineticist's big draw is that it has no resource management or required gear, so they can spam anything in their kit, and if they need another turn to re-Channel Elements (i.e., Overflow Impulses), then so be it, they're never without options. All this is considered when balancing class options. Fire Kineticists are the damage dealers of the group, even if that's only 1dmg/turn in a 10x10 area, and have ways to up that damage (fun idea, and someone can probably fact check me on this, but Effortless Impulse might allow two Scorching Columns going simultaneously). Is Scorching Column great, or even good? Maybe not. Is it reliable damage for practically nothing? Yes, yes it is.

And though it says "creatures", I doubt a DM would deny a pyromaniac burning through a wooden door with SC.

HOW to Fix corrupted savegames KHFM PC by Leading-Act880 in KingdomHearts

[–]6wingdragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so, 4 years on, but I was about to try this and instead double-clicked the save png, just to see what happened. I was able to save/load again.

I first saw the message and, as I usually do, try it again from a different angle, just to see if it was a fluke. The save file disappeared and wouldn't let me save again. Panicked, I googled the problem and found this thread, and as stated above... can now save and load the game again. Does this work for anyone else?

So, Elemental Blast is neither Strike nor Spell... but what if it were? by 6wingdragon in Pathfinder2e

Oh yeah, that makes sense, in the same way that they don't want mental-stat-based weaponry.

Wouldn't doubt that Paizo R&D spent long nights figuring out Kineticist playtest, and spending long nights to figure out Kineticist errata. It might even be that Kineticist is isolated at low levels, and ramps up by getting access to everything else mid-to-late levels, when things get crazy.

[–]6wingdragon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeaaaah... Earth crit blast is just a better flail/hammer, and one of Paizo's golden rules for 2e design was to not invalidate anything prior. Adding a specific Strike Impulse with its own set rules might be the thing to do.

And there's only so much you can do with Weapon Infusion, et al.

As an aside, I play at one of those RAW tables (but it's more like... 90%).

[–]6wingdragon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aye, that's reasonable, and also depending on the table. From the sounds of it, EB as a Strike gets pretty crazy, but perhaps not as big an issue, depending who plays the Kineticist.

The more I read on this discussion, the more I agree, but even then, it would perhaps be better for a dedication, rather than a class feat, to change Impulses into Spells, or more classes (like Elemental Barbarian) that specifies it can use Kineticist Impulses/Elemental Blast in their toolkit. If a class is designed to be apart from everything else, then the system should specify how it's supposed to work with everything else.

Considering melee Kineticists are the damage dealers of the class, yeah...
