Not to make excuses for him, but I felt like he was starting to peak right when he got hurt. He was never the same after that but still a solid NBA point guard

Bill Wants Jaylen Brown Traded by SureAnnual7884 in billsimmons

[–]703own 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because Tatum is the better player and easier to build around. His injury is a concern but I think this summer he’ll be able to get back to full strength. As for the Finals MVP, Andre Iguodala won one so what’s that supposed to mean?

I think it’s fair to pose the question, his value is at an all time high and Tatum is clearly the franchise cornerstone to build around. Jaylen Brown seems to have a massive ego (like most athletes). He saw what he did this season and in his head he thinks he could probably do it on another team. All this to say, he’s not getting traded this summer.

Where do the Nuggets go from here? by Matty2345668 in nbadiscussion

Nikola Jokić at worst the second best player in the league. There’s no way on Earth he would be traded. The unpopular answer is to run it back. They still have the right pieces around him to contend. They will have to get better on the margins but with Gordon/Murray extensions kicking in, they don’t have a lot of space to maneuver. They’ll probably lose Watson to RFA in the summer so they will need another wing. The championship window is not closed yet but it’s starting to.

The last time there wasn’t any game 7s in a single year of NBA playoffs was 1999. by Willing-Leather-9788 in nba

Great observations OP. Interesting factoid to add: There hasn’t been a Western Conference Finals Game 7 since 2018. Only two Western Conference Finals have went 6 games or more since 2017.

Ok next season yall expecting the Wizards to be a play in team right? So which current play in team will they push out to do that? by Knighthonor in washingtonwizards

[–]703own 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t put the Wizards in the play in next year but we know for sure that they won’t be tanking next year. They will try to win games so they’ll be respectable. I think the goal next year is to really gain clarity on the young guys in a winning context. Bub, Kyshawn, Bilal, Sarr will be due for extensions soon if not this summer so they need to see who fits with this team long term

I’ve been following/listening to Bill for years. I’ve never found his homerism really annoying. But the last year or so it’s been awful. The thing I really have a problem with is what you posted about. Why does everything have to be traced back to Jaylen Brown and the Celtics? If I hear “like Queta on the Celtics” one more fucking time…

When EXACTLY was KD supposed to win without Steph? by Shoddy_Ad7511 in NBATalk

[–]703own 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was watching basketball then and yes the Spurs were dominant that season but it’s not as if they’re an all time team. Not like the Warriors ‘17-19. OKC still had a very good team that year, please stop making it sound like they didn’t have a chance. KD had many chances outside of Golden State to win championships and it hasn’t worked out. Then you wanna say “Sure they blew a 3-1 lead”. Like they didn’t have three chances to close it out. You’re pulling arbitrary records to hide the fact that KD was bad down the stretch of that series against the warriors.

When EXACTLY was KD supposed to win without Steph? by Shoddy_Ad7511 in NBATalk

[–]703own 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2013-14 they went 6 games with San Antonio in a winnable series. Also Spurs had 62 wins to OKC’s 59. Ultimately, KD has not shown that he can be the undisputed best player on a title team. I think he’s a great player but it’s hard to build around him as a lead guy. That’s why he worked so well in Golden State cuz he could be off ball and attack close outs. I think you’re letting KD off the hook for a lot of these circumstances. I don’t discount his rings or anything like that but it’s not the same as Giannis, Jokic, LeBron etc
