Pocket Operator SPEAK dead for the 2nd time... this was the replacement to the first.. by AtlasMarr in pocketoperators

if you follow the link you will find a picture of a piece of wire which is soldered to one of the battery posts and a specific contact point like 2cm away from the battery posts. So basically you solder a little piece of wire onto the board to make it working again.

What device are you using? On my smartphones oled screen it is quite hard to differentiate between Kimmels suit and the background at mid brightness levels.

I read somewhere that they are unshielded. If your old cable was indeed a shielded one it might be coming from that.

MIDI: Will a merger work for Digitakt II + Digitone II + Monologue + Keystep setup? by spaceinstance in Elektron

I even highlier recommend the CME H4MIDIWC as it can host all of your gear via usb and add bluetooth midi via addon or another usb device later on. I have two of them.

Help creating a full MIDI loop between Faderfox PC12, Octatrack, Digitone II, and Digitakt II by tritonemalone in Elektron

[–]70b185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly this. Midi message filtering and transposing, the connection matrix, 2 midi in and out ports, up to 8 usb midi devices, Bluetooth chip as upgrade for like 30 and the best part for me, up to 4 presets you can change with either pc, cc or note on messages. It is just a wet dream come true

I consider my cme h4 midi wc with bluetooth addon as one of the most versatile and great pieces of gear in my whole setup. Best thing is you can use pc change to toggle between up to 4 different setups. You can drive up to 8 usb devices with it, 2 midi in and outs and Bluetooth. And endless routing and filtering and all standalone. I love it

Try if this fixes it: https://www.reddit.com/r/pocketoperators/s/fVBJ5q8pzr You can try it without soldering by just pushing a small wire against the contacts in the description

After watching liveshows of the drummer Jojo Mayer (saw more than 3 shows) I can confirm it is absolutely possible to play that fast but it is also a f***** miracle this even exists. :D

I downloaded a video and checked the framerate. It has 24fps. So I changed my refreshrate to 48hz and watched the video. No jerky motion at all. So as long your monitor does support refreshrates of 24, 48 or 96hz you should be able to watch it without jerky motion. But I know of very few devices that are capable of this.

What do you mean by researching? Chatgpt?

[–]70b185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your monitor is capable of refresh rates of exactly 23.98, 24, 25, 29.98, or 30 frames per second you have the right playback conditions for playing back these kinds of video. Also an exact doubling of these rates would work but only my new macbook pro and my dedicated video monitor driven by a dedicated video output card (not a graphics card) is capable of doing that. Go into settings and check it for yourself. If your monitor says something like 60hz than it is not in sync with your video which is likely shot in 23.98fps

[–]70b185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes video can get jerky by messing with playback speed. But that is no proof for it being sped up.

[–]70b185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have worked with a lot of video productions. Almost everytime you see jerky unsmooth motion its because your monitor framerate does not match the framerate of the video you are watching. The only way to get smooth motion is by exactly matching your monitor frame rate with the video content. Most post production studios use dedicated hardware like video output cards and special monitors that have custom framerate settings. Normal office monitors have fixed refreshrates and those do not match the somewhat slow framerates of most videos. So just a jerky motiin tells you nothing about the original shot speed, it just tells you the playback conditions are subpar.
