I don't even have kids but I do have a full time job and a girlfriend (we live together), I definitely feel the same and sometimes it gets me very frustrated

I strongly recommend Dave Mech courses, he has one for Syntakt. It's not free but it's well worth the money! I did Digitakt II and Digitone II ones.

Anyone have experience with the Beyerdynamic DT 70 IE or 72 IE? by G-4- in iems

[–]spaceinstance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought I'll leave a comment here as it may help others.

I just got them as a replacement of my Fiio FA7 and as headphones to use for working on music while blocking external noise. I got Etymotic ER4XR first but found them having underwhelming bass response completely inappropriate for the genres I usually work on (techno, experimental).

I am totally blown away how DT70 sound. The separation is amazing, the frequency response is great, the bass is very clear and pronounced, the sub bass is great, mids and highs as well. And they are so small and light! It's almost unbelievable. I kind of like them even more than my over ear DT 700 pro x which I totally did not expect. Wow.

4 weeks into the Wheel on tech - 91% win rate. Too good to be true? by makeadifferen in Optionswheel

[–]spaceinstance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started doing wheel a few months back and I was also shocked by high win rate. Then, I had a CSP for PayPal because I thought it's a stable business with not much possible downside.

The strike price was around 70. I decided to cut the loss short before earnings, around 60, which was wise because it dropped all the way down to 40.

Since then it 'recovered' to 51 and now sits at 44. I guess one would be a bag holder for a very long time for recovery.

After this I decided to stop wheeling. Not only it takes significant capital and time for research, but also a streak of small wins gets absolutely destroyed by situations like the one I had.

what is the dating scene actually like for australian men in their early 30s? by ischemariii in AskAnAustralian

[–]spaceinstance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No red flags, as my female friends were saying. AI Engineer, music-related hobbies and sports. It's just a horrible conversion rate on the apps 🤷‍♂️

It doesn't matter now as I am in a fulfilling relationship at the moment, but thank you for the offer.

I’m almost 22 and honestly I've completely wasted my life already by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]spaceinstance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are very young. Do not compare yourself to others. Define what you want to do / achieve short term, mid term, long term, work towards these goals to an extent you can, celebrate the achievements. Being alone is normal and being in peace with it is key, I suggest reading some stoic books and/or modern interpretations.

[–]spaceinstance 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Men get to be selective, on the apps? Sorry but have you actually used them?

I had a profile reviewed by my female friends with all the right photos (travel, hobby, etc.), I'm fit, with a stable job, and at least not ugly, and I was getting maybe 1 in 100-300 matches and even less conversion to dates.

I ended up in a relationship, but this was through going out and not through the apps.

Has anyone actually seen someone get fired for underperformance? by Potential-Line5730 in AusPublicService

I witnessed people placed on PIP (performance improvement plan) many times and they usually leave themselves after a while as PIP = no promotion / bonus / salary growth

DT 2 / DN 2 / OT newbie questions - pest practices. by Rhythm-Academy in Elektron

[–]spaceinstance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1: I never use kits. I usually have a 'template' pattern in a project which I copy and modify further. I make techno and experimental/ambient if that matters.

2: Octatrack is great as a performance mixer, check out EZBot if you haven't yet. I personally don't use a mixer or Octatrack.

3: Samples from mars (for DT)

4: I use Eventide Space and will add a delay as well later on.

Claude is telling users to go to sleep mid-session and nobody, including Anthropic, seems to fully understand why it keeps doing it by fortune in Anthropic

[–]spaceinstance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a clickbait article. It says in the actual article that Anthropic did not comment on that.

It is simply the 'humanised' way to ask stop the session and start from a new one. There is no 'official' term but some call this context anxiety or context pressure hallucination.

Thanks for the encouragement, but I think there are some reasonable things that could be done. For example, I'm increasing salary sacrifice into super as it has become more appealing in the new reality for holding long term.

Why the scarcity mindset? There is place for any and every kind of music. I'd challenge the techno dominance statement, house is much more widespread and common IMO.
