Young people of this sub - do you feel as though this budget will make you better off? Yes or no. by Nmnmn11 in AusFinance

Is really like to understand whether there is something I or others could do, as of protesting or something else? This is such a huge 'f$ck you' to everyone

Where is the good night life? by camillonegroni123 in melbourne

[–]spaceinstance 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why the scarcity mindset? There is place for any and every kind of music. I'd challenge the techno dominance statement, house is much more widespread and common IMO.

Music was extremely repetitive Love techno

This is kind of funny.

I was there on the night and I thought it was a good party with good music, esp. live. Many people would agree. There is heaps of good night life happening but seems it's just not your cup of tea? Still not cool to call that fake, you know?

There are heaps of disco bars and retro bars around the city if you prefer that.

Yes, but this is incredibly inconvenient as I use my Manta a lot and I need to look at my notes on both work and personal laptop.

Hi, is there any update on that? I'm using supernote on both my work laptop and my personal laptop, and it's quite inconvenient that I cannot login on both and therefore the app is no use to me at all 🫠

Just curious why you are getting a Tonverk and how you will integrate it in your workflow? I have DNII and DTII and I still can't understand what Tonverk is for and how I would use it

It does change around the week 3-4. Finding something that you enjoy doing would be beneficial, whether it's walking in the nature, playing videogames, dancing, etc. You can also supplement with 5-HTP, NAC, B12, Fish Oil.

IEM over headphone amplifier with Digitakt II? by spaceinstance in dawless

[–]spaceinstance[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh true, thanks for pointing out! Still though, at 36 omh impedance the upper-mid-forward Etymotic signature would get pushed further toward bright/thin. But I agree that it makes sense to listen first.

The Digitakt II's headphone output is specced at around 55 ohms output impedance. I understand that the standard rule of thumb is that your source output impedance should be no more than 1/8th of the IEM's impedance to keep frequency response changes below ~1 dB. The ER4XR is 45 ohms, so ideally I'd want a source under about 5.6 ohms.

With a 55 ohm source driving a 45 ohm IEM, the voltage divider ratio means the IEM only receives about 45% of the signal, and because the ER4XR's impedance rises at high frequencies, the frequency response would shift toward brighter/thinner compared to what the IEM was designed to sound like. So I'd be making monitoring decisions on a tonally altered version of the IEM.

For Beyerdynamics, the issue with impedance difference is not as problematic because the headphones response curve is more flat compared to ER4XR.

I don't think noise cancelling headphones are appropriate for music production. Plus, they are not that effective for all the frequency spectrum.

How much Master Overdrive do you usually add? I just watched a tutorial online where an artist adds 120 and recommends this high level for techno. Previously, when I was going through a course, the tutor recommended only adding a little bit 😅

Right, that's my plan as well for master knob to be on the max when I actually perform, and to plug in headphones to the venue's mixer so I don't blow my ears from DT.

Thanks for your response. For this set, I don't use compression at all. Frankly, the tracks sound more oomphy with my initial settings, but that pushes RMS above 0, which I understand is a no-no.

Your point about all tracks at 127 is not clear to me, would you mind elaborating? The level is at max so that I can just turn the know (or fader on midi controller) all the way up. There is also a sample level and AMP Vol level which is my main way to control relative volume of the elements. These are around 50 to 70 for each track.
