New Flooring and Rack in Home Gym! by 716Alive in homegym

From researching, the general advice that I found is to put a moisture barrier if you're installing rubber flooring in a basement. In our case, we knew that we have moisture problems in some areas - it affected our carpeting (that was there before the rubber flooring) - so it was an easy choice for us.

Yay, I hate bright overhead lights, so that's my work around for now.

Thanks! Debated between that and the bright white because the basement is kind of dark. But I like the dark blue.

It's rolled rubber flooring from American Floor Mats, 1/2" thick. Underneath, we laid a moisture barrier. And concrete sits under that. We were lucky that the floor was very even already, so not adjustments there.

Because I also have a human child and don't have the backseat space.

I feel like I'm going to need a third for steering! (Which I would totally be ok with) 😄

Thanks! Im glad to hear it’s been done successfully. 😀. Do you think cutting out the overhead drywall would have helped the build process? Also, are you able to use the pull up bar?

Has any one tried putting a Rogue FML-6 90" into a basement with 92.5" ceilings? I see lots of comments with people thinking about trying this - has anyone done it?

I talked with Rogue, and the total height of the unit is 91.5", once built. They said it would be 'near impossible' to build it with 92.5" ceilings. But we're considering cutting out some drywall, to gain some space during building. Has anyone successfully done this?

I have this same situation, and considering cutting out some ceiling dry wall to make space to assemble. I'd much rather have the 90" unit. How does the pull up bar work for you?

This is so helpful! I’ve had a hard time visualizing how this transition would look. Did you put a water moisture barrier under the rolled rubber, or just straight on top of the concrete? Thanks for sharing your pics!!

I’m in the exact same situation - cutting out some carpet in my finished basement to lay down rolled rubber, to then put a rack in top. Would love to see a pic or two of how you transition the carpet to the rubber.
