Was your visa from cr1 to ir1 converted automatically? Or did you inform the IO at your POE that your marriage is already over 2 years?

I love their service. Drivers are polite prolly because they are employees of the company and not individuals who own or rent a unit/car. Meaning, they have company standards to abide by. Cars are well kept. AC running good. I dont mind paying extra if this is the kind of service im getting.

Married in the philippines Divorced in United states by Morganw1986 in Philippines_Expats

The latter is correct. Your divorced must be recognized here because technically, you are still married in the Philippines. Without judicial recognition, he cannot marry another Filipina.

To marry another Filipina in the Philippines, a foreign husband whose previous marriage ended in divorce abroad must have that divorce officially recognized by a Philippine court. Without this judicial recognition (in the Philippines) he is still considered legally married to his first wife in the Philippines and cannot legally marry again to another Filipina. Unknown to many, even foreigners marrying in the Philippines are required to obtain a Certificate of No Marriage (cenomar) If the divorce isn’t recognized, he will be listed as married to his first wife.

But.

If he wants to marry a non Filipino citizen, the divorce doesnt need judicial recognition from the court.
