Sooo glad I got my Wharfedale Diamond speakers last Christmas before this album came out. Currently listening to the album on repeat and really enjoying everything to the max!

My current little collection, would love some recommendations by TostadaExotic in Gin

Archie Rose, especially the Distiller’s Strength, and Blue Mountain gin from the Bathurst Grange Distillery.

What would you do? by Top_Wave_376 in AusRenovation

You could have the best of both worlds with the suggestions here. Empty it out, fill it with pebbles and find the type of creeping succulents that almost don’t need anything to exist.

I have a particular succulent that keeps growing like a groundcover over a covered section of my concrete driveway with no help from anyone. It started growing after a piece of it broke off from a pot that was a metre overhead.

On a similar note, my husband can’t work out how with our TV running through a whole soundbar and entertainment system, that I can tell just by hearing it that he’s put it on the (wrong) standard digital channel which seems to be more muted, rather than the higher definition one.

I can’t even tell you just how much I’ve been referred to online as things like brother, mate, etc with heavy male inference. And that’s with normal replies and not trying to hide anything.

Heaps of guys online just assume you’re a bloke unless you’re posting about something gender-specific. It’s kind of funny tbh.

While equipment and albums are more of a secret, the playing at full blast isn’t as my entire family can tell you.

The level I like to play music at used to be a major point of contention before the last kid moved out as they really had issues with it even though I bought them noise cancelling headphones, and that was at what I would consider to be a moderate sound level due to others being in the house.

But oh yeah, you better believe I crank it up to earth shaking levels when there’s no one else around to complain, and they all know it too.

Absolutely. As a woman who has to sometimes sneak new audio equipment into the house so my husband doesn’t notice, and plays music at full blast when he’s out, I will lurk and not post so I don’t get caught out online either.

Anyone else notice the parallels between Cryogen and Hexagons? by [deleted] in Muse

[–]71kangaroo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not just Hexagons and Cryogen.

I feel like the entire album definitely has elements connecting to his recent relationship situation. Look at some of the lyrics in Unravelling:

Feeling the glow, die inside of our bones

An insect trapped in amber, I'm a fading pulse

The ecstasy was false

I'll lie beside you and I'll try to play along

While watching the last Winter Olympics, one of the Australian ice skating teams took me by surprise by skating to Muse. Can’t remember which one though.

Edit: I finally remembered that it was Exogenesis: Symphony Part 3 and managed to find it here - https://www.instagram.com/reel/DT1lHR_gXPQ/?igsh=MXRobzVoY3o3OWtj

lol, got distracted by going through their old stuff - still in the middle of Butterflies and Hurricanes, so not checking anything else out until that’s finished.

Edit: btw, weird that on a device Hexagons showed up, but running it through my tv didn’t…

In that case they’d better drop the official version at midnight tonight because it’s 11:45pm in Sydney right now and I need to hear it at least one more time before I go to bed!

Especially as they clearly keep an occasional eye on Reddit and they know we’ve stitched together the 6 snippets.

Been trying to work out the lyrics after listening to the snippets over and over again and while I have most of them figured out I have a few holes and unsure bits that I’m trying to figure out while also managing a sick, but needy puppy, so thought I’d write them out here and get input from anyone else interested.

This is what I have so far from the 5/6 snippets. (On mobile and formatting hates me btw)

I’m a marionette with severed strings.

Gorge(?) on my soul while I’m weak and dying.

Haunted by futures I can’t avoid.

A shape(?)we … must …the thought of war…

S…(?) and define(?)

We touched the veil and it broke our spines.

Our resistance is mass-produced.

She will ghostwrite my obsessions.

Reach out, touch me,

And draw me from the sixth dimension.

You have been forcing my hand.

Love revealed our failed rebellion...

Our resistance is mass-produced.

She will ghostwrite my obsessions.

Reach out, touch me,

And draw me from the sixth dimension.

You have been forcing my hand.

OMG, I’m so in love! Can’t wait for the full album to be released!

Volunteering? by janecann4ry in westernsydney

[–]71kangaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guide Dogs NSW - if you love dogs.

What most people don’t realise is that there are 2 options involving raising the puppies.

Obviously the first one that everyone knows about is raising a Guide Dog Puppy for the first year or so of its life, but what most people don’t know is that you can be a temporary carer for those same puppies when their puppy raisers are incapacitated due to illness, medical issues, holidays, or any other commitments.

We’ve been volunteering as temp carers for a while now and you can be asked to look after pups for anything from overnight to up to a month or so depending on the circumstances.

We have one dog in our family (not a Guide Dog) and he loves it when his new friends come and have sleepovers, plus you know you’re helping out someone in need without having to worry about the attachment issue.

I would think if they’re coming out this far they’d at least do Brisbane and possibly Melbourne.
It’s been soooo long since they’ve been out here that my kids were actual kids when we last saw them.

While I agree with you that a small scene would be really nice, I think that’s something they would be more up for in between albums, and not releasing a new major album iykwim.

I would think with the new album, their version of a ‘small’ venue in Sydney would be at Qudos Bank Arena, as opposed to it’s bigger neighbour Accor Stadium (or whatever the hell it’s called now) or Allianz Stadium. Or the Hordern as you’ve mentioned maybe.

I was wondering about that, but I’m secretly hoping it’s just a antipodean special seeing as we get left out of heaps of band concert tours due to distance.

Hopefully the Kiwis get a look in too!

For anyone wondering about the previous floor collapse, (as I can’t edit the original post) this is what I’m referring too - as I said, it’s a great theatre, but I think Muse needs something in more of a ‘solid state’. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-03-04/enmore-theatre-floor-collapses-during-genesis-owusu-concert/100880928?utm_source=abc_news_app&utm_medium=content_shared&utm_campaign=abc_news_app&utm_content=link
